12/5/2016 09:35 | Look at the price of POLY today! Come on guys we should be way higher here surely? IMO | hazl
11/5/2016 19:53 | Yes this is the piece about the company and OVG's mention end of 2015.I suppose it shows they still exist! We need some rns from the company just to keep us going I think. Thanks bozzie same to you! | hazl
11/5/2016 14:31 | hazl It's all part of the experience some you win some you lose. Just passing on what I have learned from 10+ years of watching this share. Not every explorer will benefit from a rise in prices it will depend on the quality of the resources and the viability for extraction, and more importantly the credibility of the company After my adventure here I invested in BP post Macondo and saw decent quarterly dividends which have helped recover a decent amount but the best investment was buying into Gold via bullionvault which gives exposure to spot prices and tight spread with low storage costs. Had a decent holidng from about $750 oz in 2008 / 9 cashed some in around 1,500 upt to 1,800 oz and still hold a good quantity to date. | mbthedude
11/5/2016 14:13 | IT also depends on when you think they will raise interest rates. If you think that it will happen before the exploration companies produce anything then they won't be so viable. If though you think the economies can't withstand a rise through the next couple of years gold will still be sound. That's how I'm reading it anyway. There are risks in any of these shares. You have to make up your own mind and not 'bet the farm' as they say. imo | hazl
11/5/2016 14:02 | Forget my last post! Gold is back on again and I got OMI again yesterday. mbtdude I am sorry for your experience but we have just been talking about this very thing on the OMI thread.Management get blamed when it is just a symptom of the climate at the time for the sector. This share hasn't leapt like some goldies because it is regarded as an exploration company and they will take off as the gold-bull becomes more clear in my opinion. To answer your last point they did try to invest in a diamond company in relatively recent times but were thwarted somehow. Will have to dig out the literature. I have not given up on this one yet. Good luck folks. IMO | hazl
11/5/2016 13:43 | There's one born every minute, and anyone that thinks this share is an undervalued Gem has not done their due diligence. You need to look back at the history of this company from early 2000's to get an accurate picture. First thing you should take into account the shares were consolidated 5 to 1 in 2010 so for every 5 shares owned before that time you now owned 1 The biggest payday this company ever saw was the sale of Goltsovoye to Norplat it was a very promising Silver deposit owned by the company at a time when Silver was growing in value from around 5$ to mid 20s and before the spike in 2011 to $50 oz However none of the proceeds of that sale ever made their way to shareholders they were paid out only to Directors or used to spend on other projects. The highest real price I ever saw for this share was about 13p it traded between 6 and 11 pence back in the days when it was run out of Dublin. todays price of 5.5 pence is equivalent to 1.1 pence. The company website is misleading they have never officially developed any project simply sold them on, and there has never been any value derived for share holders, I doubt there ever will be as all funds stay within the company to be distributed amongst the directors or poured into non productive projects. I hung around this share for a long time waiting to see if things would change but they never have in fact its just reduced in value year on year. Gold and Silver may have increased in value but this share reflects non of that, if your looking for better exposure try picking some of the shares in the HUI list, they have open exposure to the fluctuating price of Gold and have returned a 120% increase since Nov last year. Don't take my word for it however go and review the annual reports going back to around 2004 and you will get the full picture. | mbthedude
09/5/2016 13:26 | I am holding off getting any new gold shares for now ....see how this month goes with the gold price. | hazl
07/5/2016 19:34 | No bozzy not yet....well done. Yes, I have a little collection....have sold a few just to keep it real. Currently in FQM....has done v. well since turn of the year for me but shortly to be listed in Canada only. Have a few in CEY,SHG, PGD,token holdings in a few different ones extra to that. I have intentions to get back into a couple of shares that I have held previously, will keep you posted! Probably best to stay in any that are quality is the feeling I get. IMO | hazl
06/5/2016 18:02 | PoG having another crack at $1300... OVG will have its day. All the ingredients are here for a +100% in a day movement when something positive is announced. Hope your other goldies are doing well Hazl. Are you in GDP? I had them for a few years, sold in 2013. They've tripled in the past 6 months. | bozzy_s
06/5/2016 16:09 | Its on the Irish Stock Exchange as well it seems so it is a bit confusing . The ISDX as well! so it might look as if it has no trades sometimes whether it has or not! IMO | hazl
06/5/2016 15:37 | Annual report due next month so perhaps we could do with a bit of news. The director shareholdings though were a vote of confidence and the shares in POLY alone are worth quite a bit of cash...and have increased in recent times of course. IMO | hazl
06/5/2016 15:33 | Such a difference between say FQM ....CGNR and here certainly. But when people do catch on then won't it be great?!. IMO | hazl
06/5/2016 15:27 | I think it is being treated like its an exploration company when its got lots of irons in the fire. Also not everybody is keen on anything Russian but that's where gold is sometimes found. You know what people are like when the herd start foraging.......as I'm sure they will at some point ....then you won't be able to stop them! IMO | hazl
06/5/2016 15:18 | Why is this behaving like its been suspended or jas it? | my retirement fund
06/5/2016 13:47 | gold up 13.9 | hazl
02/5/2016 19:51 | If this POG action doesn't start to wake gold bugs up not sure what will. | my retirement fund
02/5/2016 16:03 | Looks like we may have a good week again next week with the gold price having shot up! Even if it softens that's been amazing rise in such a short-time frame. imo | hazl
29/4/2016 15:15 | Nice day today. Blue all round. Gold rallying back to it's high last month - and hopefully beyond. | bozzy_s
29/4/2016 12:19 | so will they invest in something else? | hazl
29/4/2016 12:15 | INTERESTING AND impressive background imo | hazl
29/4/2016 11:45 | INTERESTING......... | hazl
29/4/2016 11:22 | it is on ISDX as well of course | hazl |
