True, massive loss in value. Lots of oil co had price drops during the same period, the difference is that others have gained since the losses, and we have yet to. Let's wait to see if we get financing. If so, is it a good deal!!

And so it should be. Can't believe this Cooper guy has dragged out this financing for so long it's bloody scandalous. How someone keeps their job at the helm of a company that has its share price drop from 5 quid to 50p is beyond me.

Two institutions departing but someone must be buying them.

The risk has been there since Cooper misled the market , and you were pumping this all the way until yesterday , do a bit of research Nigel on the BOD , that should enable you to see the light.

Absolutely Ed. But as I always say no point in looking back.

My concern is only ever on the future - what is a sensible value for what we have in front of us?

Clearly the stock is too cheap but Fortuna is a serious risk now.

Thanks, Nigelpm. :-)

Looking back, I see you sold some today.

On that basis you could call me one of your followers!

Moving on, it is a very sad state of affairs, especially in the context of those huge gas finds and the 600p share price. Ophir tried to do something only a big oil company should have been involved in ...... to the cost of its shareholders.

I see you have another follower ...... After hours rns, Majedie Asset Management have been selling too.

(I wonder who's been buying?)

Believe it or not Ed - I tend to agree with a lot of what you say.

Hi Jotoha2.

I've been caught out on the Superdry (SDRY) thread, taking a posting seriously when it was tongue in cheek. So, not sure with your, "Sorry to hear ..."

Anyway, taking it as literal, my reasoning was as follows. It's taken too long to get the Fortuna financing sorted. Government now openly talking about what they'd like to happen when Ophir loses its licence. I think either there won't be a financing agreement or it will be done by Ophir under duress, meaning pressure on Cooper to give something away. Either way, not good for shareholders.

I was sitting on a small number of Ophir shares, watching Sailing Stone (who will surely know a lot more than me about Ophir and Fortuna) sell huge numbers, and watching other oil companies re-rate on the rising oil price. Obviously I could have done better with that cash elsewhere. However, I bought in not that long ago and only lost slightly under 3% on these shares.

I'm relaxed about it. If it gets good news in the morning and jumps 50%, I'll not be kicking myself.

Good luck to yourself and to all other holders. :-) Hope it goes well for you.

I notice that Shell and other losing tenderers from last year are back negotiating for the LNG. We then have Lima the Government Minister adding that a Chinese or Singaporean lender would likely insist on claiming the LNG. Too many people to keep happy here but I expect a deal to be done.

Sorry to hear that Edd , if Cooper resigns as he surely will pretty soon , then the share price will double on news of his replacement .

Finance should of been in place 12 months ago ,how can you negotiate the large scale expenditure , while at the same time you are assuming everything will just fall into place , its the behaviour of a dreamer , and a very well paid dreamer at that .

Yes, but short term extensions are usual particularly in a case such as this.

The fact that the EG have felt the need to publicly speak out about it doesn't bode well IMHO.

Lots of other tidbits in there as well that concern me.

Always happy to admit when I change my mind and I'm a lot more concerned than I was before I read it - hence the reduction in position.

The Licence Expires in December so the risk is in the price. "Ophir's license to the gas fields in offshore Block R expires in December."
