Think we owe dave4545 a vote of thanks for being ahead of the curve on this collapse and posting the link to The Hindu. I actually topped up with a small amount yesterday morning and sold all in the afternoon! Not too painful a loss on my top-up.

RNS at last. Who knows what the truth of the matter is. I doubt this will be resolved quickly.

I went short yesterday afternoon. Was surprised, I could. But the market hardly reacted much yesterday. My spreadbet firm usually doesn't let me short things that could be profitable !

Just be careful about bottom fishing This could get suspended indefinitely Only buy what you can afford to lose permanently

Certainly not a share for widows and orphans. But they own 476 MW of assets, so Certainly worth more than 8.5p, if sold off... Which could happen if senior management are found guilty of ML...

In Australia, in situations like this the company will announce a trading halt while it puts together an official announcement. It’s poor that the UK authorities don’t have the same arrangements. It might not be until Monday that OPG release a statement.

They have posted results in India however

Much lower profits for 3 months to Sep 30th

Around £1 mil v £3 mil last year

Still 5 mil+ in 6 months

But no mention of that news earlier

I think it’s far too early to speculate as to the consequences of this news.

Could see the company go up for sale if the directors have to stand down, from their directorships. Surely the company could easily be sold for 30p plus.. With the profits they are forecasted to make, providing they are genuinely true.

Yes we certainly need clarification that if its going to have a material effect on the business. Hopefully RNS will put the doubts to bed.

Unfortunately with shares anything can pop up out of the blue, thats why you need a diversified portfolio..

Yes I have a strict rule As soon as something feels uncomfortable then get rid. You buy a stock to make you happy not miserable I take loads of losses but as long as the overall portfolio amount is increasing then it is fine

I look back at my biggest losses of 2023 and now they would be humungous losses in 2024.

The shrewdest investors are those that can take any kind of loss and not hold for their money back.

I'm hoping OPG will release a RNS

8.38 crore is around £780k.

...seized from both the office premises of M/s OPG Group and the
residential premises of its Directors.

More details here:
hxxps://enforcementdirectorate.gov.in/sites/default/files/latestnews/Press%20Release%20-%20Search-OPG%20Group-13.11.2024.pdf

In terms of the full FDI figure mentioned, 1148 crore, that amounts to £107m.

Could turn out positive. A clean out of the company if that is what is required.

But in the short term, some pain no doubt.

I got it sent to me around 3pm I had no idea but somebody knew earlier. I sold some smaller amounts. I cannot have another bullet, would be happy to buy them back higher if everything turns out ok...I'm just not making any money so I cannot risk any stocks with uncertainty
