Could well be, yes there was a 150k yesterday and a 134k today from the look of it?

I've been happy to buy a few off them. Shares don't get this cheap without a seller though I guess!

Noticed a few largish sells yesterday and today, maybe there's a seller out there who's holding down the upward trajectory....?

Think its genuinely amazing how it got this cheap again frankly.

What a gift! Certainly feels like it at the moment anyway. Will see if it is soon enough; last time 10p to 30p was a pretty good ride. Where will it get to if the results are as expected?

Added today close to 15p as I think it will go for a while

I rather like to think Andy has fallen off his chair because of the share price going up modestly.

Perhaps good timing with the top ups.

About time Cenkos moved up on the Ask. All buys today and decent volume so far.

Andy, the video I was thinking of is on YouTube under "suryadev power 80mw" which I believe to be Chennai III (or its sister plant). The water discussion is around 2 mins 45 seconds in.

Alternatively full details are in the annual report, page 18 covers it exhaustively but the key part is Avantika Gupta's statement on page 8:

"...the plants are designed to limit the consumption of water as they are built with air cooled condenser technology rather than being water cooled with the result that OPG's plants use 99% less water than most thermal plants in the world."

Looks like the learned and savvy are investing here, might as well join in and top up with another 22,222....

Most recent Shares investors presentation 18th June 2019 by Dmitri Tsvetkov. I know much of it the same as recent presentations, but does makes some interesting observations on the results to be issued shortly. Even if 50% of what he says is discounted, it does look cheap. He acknowledges it will take time for the market to forgive the management, but his estimated valuation of £240m sometime out in the future doesn't look that crazy.

There is a video somewhere of a lady explaining the water recycling system that I've seen but I can't locate for the moment. I'll try and find it.

My comment about water being recycled was a bit too simplistic. In fact the plants have underground rainwater recharge systems and boreholes that can be used to top up.

I have been told that it is Chennai city that is affected. Much of the small amount of water that they need to cool the plant is recycled.

Picked up a few more at 16.2. Despite my cynicism!! Wonder how drought might have impacted results? Someone mentioned air cooling but still need water for steam and not all can be recycled.

I've also had confirmation that results are due imminently. This looks like a good top-up/entry point now. A few buyers today recognising that - It now looks like a good risk/reward for a trade from these levels.

Well, I picked up 50,000 - see how it goes. Problems in Chennai not helping sentiment, but if true more water desalination earmarked from the region before 2022, will require a lot of energy to run them, which may help OPG directly or indirectly. As for Gupta, I assume he's acting CEO (if not on paper) as well as ex-chairman. Really needs to be a clear and independent role between the two and bring someone from the outside would clearly help confidence. A gamble, but hopefully the risk-reward is better stacked at present. Result due very soon according to its PR co.

To some extent that is fair but six years of over promising and utterly under delivering plus poor corporate governance plus idiotic LTIPs plus frankly at present a simple lack of a clear strategy means almost however low it sinks no one is interested. That is because you simply don’t know what Gupta is going to do next.

In all seriousness, there have been missteps made by OPG but I think the real albatross was largely out of their hands. They overleveraged with Gujarat but it was the local regulator's refusal to recognise the group captive model that then sunk the project. The boats and other assorted projects that were written off weren't much, in the grand scheme of things.

Had they been able to charge the rightful tariff from the start at Guj they would have been fine - whilst the company was brought to its knees by hanging on for so long it's no longer an issue. People can be sceptical but Gupta has to his credit always reinvested his divs in scrip, and he's brought Dimitry onboard to sort out the years of mess.

On close to a mill a year I doubt he's too fussed with the day to day - let them get back to just making some cash. As Rivaldo says, money will talk soon enough.

If I'm reading the coal chart in the thread header correctly, the price of that coal which OPG haven't yet hedged is now down to 35.65, well below where it was for most of last year and down from 39 in May.

OPG does appear to be seriously cheap.
