Gujarat is non recourse so Tamil Nadu alone probably worth 35-45p depending on how generous you are.

Gujarat needs coal at 30 amongst other things if it will eventually be worth 30p itself.

Tariffs are increasing and coal price going down . In business if the top line continues to grow (at an improved margin) and your costs are heading down then I'd expect more profit and cash and a corresponding share price. Share price has hit the bottom

Thanks for the helpful replies guys. Im not an expert in power generation by any means but I would have thought the cost of coal was the same for the competition therefore would be easily passed onto customers.

I assume demand for power is on the increase in India along with the price of coal?

And they are not going back to 30p in this. They will, as they do, rise abut then dribble back. Until something sustainably or structurally changes the shares won’t move much. This isn’t it. It merely preserves the optionality a bit longer.

Last 2 months the price of Indonesian coal has dropped. Am waiting to see if it’s 3 months in a row. I think it will be given China are reducing imports from Indonesia .

Fair enough John, however Indonesian coal is clearly influenced by the prevailing coal price in general. The articles you reference state that Indonesian coal was up 7% in May this year compared to May last year. Therefore regardless of whether you follow Indonesian coal price or prevailing coal price it is clear that OPG's coal costs are going up, not down compared to this time last year.
