Over the medium to long term it is better to cut debt than buy back shares you can buy back but the debt is still the same. I think by extending the debt on the largest unit will allow more cash to expand or pay down debt on the smaller units

Andy you say the non execs are weak purely based on the point that they're not pushing for something you think they should be pushing for?! (buy backs)When the share price was 90p plus the large sharesholder wasn't a concern then. This will continue to languish while the seller(s) are out. They say a share price only matters on 2 occasions - the day you buy and the day you sell. The fundamentals are still sound and in the long term I strongly believe this will turn.

I used to work for a company which was publicly quoted but where the family owned the majority of the shares and the response to any shareholder complaints about under-performance was 'this hurts us more than it hurts you'! Unless this follows the example of several Chinese AIM companies where outright fraud was involved, I'm hoping that is the case here and all will be well in the long run. The unrelenting downward pressure in the face of apparently sound(ish) figures gives me cause for concern that something is not quite right, but at the moment I'm clinging on and giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Several points: Family Guptas own over 50% of the business therefore you have to have strong non execs to preserve value for, and protect the minorities. The non execs are weak. They collect their £50k/annum or whatever it is but do not push the execs and the majority to do the right thing. Evidently that is buying back equity rather than investing in solat, buy backs having a much higher IRR than solar. The appointed Gupta as Exec chairman. That is terrible governance, at least in a UK context. So there are two examples. Why do you think that, going in as a minority of a minority, so to speak, you are in any way protected?

andycapp1 - you are a man with a view on OPG, a question. I have looked at the finances and risk factors, both of which have pros and cons, but if coal, FX rates or weather remain broadly in its favour, it does generate good free cash flow levels to support debt and CAPEX (interest rates high, but this in India). My question is corporate governance, which you seem to think they lack. Do trust the corporate structure of the business and the directors? If not, why not?

You utter prat Azalea. Of course it can be if it is contemporaneously released to the market. Anyhow that's not the accusation. It's once again their saying nothing positive, at least that materially adds to intrinsic value. And also said, by all accounts, in a manner so unendingly dull that it failed to elicit even a cornucopia of interest; hence the fall today.

No price sensitive information would have been released at the presentation as it would not have been in the public domain.

Obviously Ajay Paliwal charm didn't rub off at the investor presentation. Looks cheap, but will wait out for a capitulation. Management needs to listen to shareholders, as it's trading below TNAV, which could mean its a bargain or ...

Now almost back to where they were in 2012, despite the plants actually now being fully commissioned.

Bloomberg consensus EPS March 2017 6.5p, March 2018 8.3p. At 42.75p puts it on current P/E of 6.6x, and forward 5.2x.

Overhang in market, so going nowhere soon. You would have thought the brokers Macquarie and Cenkos would have found a new home for the shares, but no, the drift goes on.

Looks like the pound may be recovering against the rupee from recent lows.A sustained recovery could have quite a negative impact on numbers going forward - the opposite to saving opg's bacon as it did in recent results.jozoPs great to see azelea still spouting the same old tosh.
