OTB have very strong financial governance to weather the storm. Their RNS of April 8th confirms the lights are not going off any time soon.

Undoubtedly TUI making 8000 employees redundant is not a good sign for the future travel industry... only so much longer OTB can keep the lights on with no customers... :(

Hi all,

My mate Peter @Conkers3 and myself did a Twin Petes Investing Podcast a few days ago and part of our discussion covers OTB which I hold. We also talked in depth about the current situation in the Markets and how we reckon things could play out. Anyway, if you use Apple or Audioboom you can find it under the 'Conkers Corner' Channel (you want TPI Podcast 21) and you can find it on Soundcloud at the link below.

Ideal listening whilst you are locked away !!

Cheers, WD

Yes, nice update. It's good to see a few more companies providing more insight into the stress testing they are doing.

That's another 10% move this morning. That is now three such moves since yesterday afternoon.

EDIT:

And now it's up 25%. Surely (beyond long termers) in this highly uncertain environment you take some off the table there with a move as rapid as that.

Come on Mr Market, give us a challenge!

Good detailed explanatory update this morning.

I listened to Spain's Foreign Minister on tv last night already considering conditional reopening of borders, need to get better testing sorted first so that travelers can be vetted and certified, that will take some doing but I think it could be a likely outcome eventually.

These boards are dead - a sign of sentiment. Very bullish.

Been nibbling a few here today. Alot of demand for stock, large buying coming in. Plenty of caution still needed, but plenty of brutal beatdown longer term opportunities too.

Edit: Blooming hek, just gapped up nearly 12p in a flash - expect more bonkers movements out there.

Further edit: And from gapping up from about 213p to 223p, stock is now down at 200p. Just shows you why you have to be very careful in this market!

Crazy market cap here, but what is the cash burn, must be in the 10's of millions and with very little income.....

Will they breach their covenants

Must go sub 100p if travel bookings collapse, it's the sole revenue

yep, they have!

On the Beach Group plc (LSE: OTB.L), the UK's leading online retailer for beach holidays, today issues a trading update following recent COVID-19 developments.

The Group experienced a small but noticeable reduction in demand for Summer 2020 travel following the early reports of COVID-19 cases in early February. The reduction in demand has accelerated significantly following the increase in COVID-19 cases in Europe, particularly the spread of the virus to Tenerife.

Whilst this reduction in demand has led to a natural reduction in marketing spend, the Board does not now expect the Group to achieve payback in the current financial year on its previously outlined strategic marketing investment.

With the expectation that the spread of the COVID-19 is going to cause significant disruption for a period of time, the Board believes that the Group's Full Year results for the year to 30 September 2020 will be below current market expectations.

Can't believe this hasn't fallen another 50% So much hope value built in here. Price is almost saying they will have a vaccine for everyone by the end of the spring. Sheer delusional. There won't be a vaccine for at 12-18 months. Bookings will take 2 years to return to normal. Fantastic shorting opportunity for some lucky people!

Interesting near doubling in their holding:

Shame it wasn't reflected in the share price.

ff, it said.

Holiday Inn owner InterContinental Hotels Group has closed or partially closed 160 out of its 470 hotels in mainland China and said it expects a short-term hit from the outbreak.
