Poor journalism from the Daily Drivel but what do you expect ? I find it depressing that Professor Pillock is a member of SAGE and she is advising Government at the highest level - the concept that this Government has endeavoured to home grow a tech industry as she alleges is almost comical - the reality is the opposite for most in the IVD industry. The test can currently be used by professionals but not you or me - why ? The Government/MHRA are scared of ceding control to the individual - ultimately the dam will burst as people will not tolerate the continued restrictions on their civil liberties - we live in the UK not China not Korea etc. If I was in the hospitality industry I would be opening a new pub chain called Antibodies where you only gain entry if you have had a certified positive antibody test - that way you can have those pubs/restaurants back at full capacity. That concept could be extended to sports grounds ( instead of the Shed End you can have the Antibody End) and theatres etc. I am fully aware of the stale argument that having had Covid does not confer immunity - bad science in my view just like bad journalism.

I think the article is trying to get across in its clumsiness. That the government has bought further tests without regulatory clearance.so hopefully this will now shortly follow. Maybe they were given heads up by mhra before committing to the order.

The order goes thru Abingdon Health then it is apportioned between the manufacturers. ODX is guaranteed min 25% plus third party sales.ie export countries. More than enough.Plus the ODX relationship with mologic .

The longer the MHRA take to update, the longer the press can post stuff like this

It was a piece in the Mail that made the shares jump from 33p to 66p so to say people don't take notice of it is just being ignorant IMHO

Most of these so called experts are aligned with Major Pharmas, why would they want a inexpensive LFT....

Prof John Ashton may find himself in the same humiliating situation as Prof Jon Deeks, issuing a public apology grudgingly.

You have to laugh at some of these so called experts and the Daily Mail of all papers, what a rag that is!!...there must be a lot of different agendas with these "experts"...

Hi NXC, In your post on valuation, post number 7695, you wrote "Timing of revenues in modelling is always a bit of a challenge and does impact NPV calculation. Also critical is your assumption on cost of capital. My modelling suggests a share price of 126p with a 10% cost of capital and 189p with a 5% cost of capital reflecting also an additional 27.5m shares in issue." May I know if you have fed the projected figures from last week's investor presentation into your modelling to work out the latest valuations? If so, would you kindly share with us? Many thanks.

Apologies Bermuda for missing your question - ODX has sufficient cash resources to meet any significant increase in capacity without having to seek Government support. It was more than mischievous of some to suggest a further fund raising would be necessary - the issues for ODX as far as I can see are two-fold; a Government who appear singularly incapable of having a plan ( other than lockdown) to address the virus which will be with us for a long time - the sooner they get their ar*e into gear and get testing devolved to the individual the better. The other issue for all diagnostic companies is the fragility of their supply chains - one can aim to mitigate risk but you cannot eliminate it. If you are looking for a negative "black seagull" event with any quoted diagnostic company one of them will certainly relate to a breakdown in the supply chain. This is a particular issue in the UK where there is no diagnostic manufacturer of scale and you just cannot switch a switch on and expect tests to flow as Bonkers Boris's will discover. It is an issue for ODX if they receive substantial orders ( perhaps if one of the other consortium members fail to deliver) and likewise for GDR if they land major orders - the risk I think is greatest with Novacyt who have contractual obligations and orders to fill.
