Beeksy, by the looks of the chart, they might start marching back to the top of the hill again!

FailedQS- I didn't have that problem from the AIM days- mine were always kept in a nominee account. I think you just need to contact computershare to remove the restriction- if you look on their US site, there is a live chat option- just ask them what to do.

In the meantime, your shares did a "grand ol' Duke of York". Unfortunately, they've been marched back down the hill for the time being!

One of the lucky barstewards who held from them days will have the answer, I am sure.

Can anyone offer some advice about the status of OCZ shares?

I held these since the AIM days, and after the re-listing on Nasdaq I got a paper certificate from them for my shares.

I recently asked Barclays Stockbrokers to add these to my online trading account, and got a letter back from them stating that:

"the enclosed certificate is restricted. In order to add these shares to your account you will need to contact Computershare Investor Services, USA, to have the restriction lifted."

On the back of the share certificate I now see that there is a note stating "no transfer of any of the shares comprised in this certificate will be registered until this certificate has been lodged at Computershare Investor Services..... Jersey".

So do I have to get Computershare (Jersey not USA) to do something to my shares to allow me to make them ok to transfer into my dealing account?

I don't seem to have any letters on file about what to do, so any advice would be gratefully received!! I'm sure someone else must have gone through this already!!!

Thanks a lot

I dont think anyone is going to buy the company anytime soon. I think most we can hope for is some sort if PIPE financing and a long term NAND agreement with a big player

Tightly Integrated PCIe Solid-State Drive Hardware and Intelligent Caching Software Storage Solution Accelerates and Optimizes Microsoft SQL Server Applications

SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/23/13 -- OCZ Technology Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: OCZ), a leading provider of high-performance solid-state drives (SSDs) for computing devices and systems, today announced the general availability of its ZD-XL SQL Accelerator which was first showcased live at Interop® 2013 and won the Best of Show Award in the Data Center and Storage category. This award-winning product is a tightly integrated hardware/software storage solution that accelerates and optimizes Microsoft SQL Server database applications in enterprise environments.

ZD-XL SQL Accelerator includes a high-performance flash-based PCIe solid-state drive working in combination with innovative acceleration and caching software to deliver the right and relevant SQL Server data when the application needs it. Through a user-friendly advanced graphical user interface, ZD-XL provides simple step-by-step implementation wizards that guide database administrators (DBAs) through best practice models of its flash-based resources to deliver easy and efficient deployment into SQL Server environments.

The unique ZD-XL SQL Accelerator architecture exposes its PCIe-based on-host flash as both local and cache volumes, and efficiently distributes random database workloads in parallel between all of its available flash to provide up to 25 times improved database performance depending on the application load. The ZD-XL SQL Accelerator's unrivaled ability to partition its flash between local volumes and cache enables data files, such as tempDB, to benefit from high flash performance while hot database data is cached to flash for immediate availability by SQL Server.

"Plugging seamlessly into existing or new SQL Server installations, our new ZD-XL SQL Accelerator leverages both our solid-state drive hardware and software IP to provide application-optimized flash caching load volumes that enable data to be accessed with the highest possible I/O performance," said Ralph Schmitt, CEO for OCZ Technology. "We believe that the industry is primed for this type of tightly integrated, plug-and-play use-case acceleration solution that uniquely combines software, driver, firmware and hardware into one robust and easy to deploy high-performance SQL Server solution."

"By deploying ZD-XL SQL Accelerator in our database servers, we reduced the run time of key SQL Server jobs from 2.5 hours to 45 minutes, without replacing our SAN," said Lars Ketting, ICT, Cartal Rijsbergen Automotive. "Along with these performance benefits, the simple implementation wizards allowed us to easily migrate from our test environment to deployment in our production systems."

Direct Pass Caching Technology is a key component of ZD-XL SQL Accelerator as it intelligently selects what data to insert into flash cache. The technology utilizes a data path cache director, cache analysis engine, and advanced policy-based algorithms that enable DBAs to use pre-optimized SQL Server-specific caching policies. This one-of-a-kind decision-engine performs deep 'out-of-band' statistical analysis of both OLTP (transactional) and OLAP (analytical) loads, making knowledgeable selections that ensure high hit ratios of the most frequent and important hot data to cache within ZD-XL SQL Accelerator without having to perform cycle-consuming analysis in the data path itself.

Another key feature of ZD-XL SQL Accelerator is its business-rule pre-warming cache engine and cache warm-up analyzer that monitors SQL Server workloads and automatically pre-loads the cache in advance of critical, demanding or important SQL Server jobs. It achieves this by identifying repeated access patterns that enable DBAs to set periodic time schedules to pre-load the cache. This unparalleled feature assures that this critical data resides on the ZD-XL SQL Accelerator's cache at the exact time SQL Server needs it.

To round out its capabilities, ZD-XL SQL Accelerator is designed to enable complete high availability (HA) through Microsoft SQL Server AlwaysOn technology, so not only can SQL Server environments function at the speed of flash, but in the event of planned or unplanned downtime, can continue operations from the stopping point, retaining all of its data as if no downtime had occurred.

ZD-XL SQL Accelerator is available in three configurations supporting 600GB, 800GB and 1.6TB storage capacities with service and support options available for each. For more information, go to www.ocz.com/enterprise.

Let's hope we're close to news now, or is it just speculative positioning after STEC buyout by WD? OCZ would be vulnerable to a cheap takeover at these prices, but there can be no buyout without full disclosure of the past shenanigans. Still can't help feeling there is purpose behind the delay in filing.

New 20nm Vertex released today:

OCZ Launches the Next Generation Vertex 450 Series Solid State Drives

New Vertex 450 SSD Utilizes Proprietary Barefoot 3 M10 Series Controller and 20nm Flash to Deliver a Superior Client Computing Experience

SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/23/13 -- OCZ Technology Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: OCZ), a leading provider of high-performance solid-state drives (SSDs) for computing devices and systems, today announced the release of the Vertex 450 SATA III SSD Series featuring the company's proprietary Indilinx Barefoot 3 M10 Series controller. As part of the leading-edge Vertex series, Vertex 450 lives up to its name and bridges the gap between high performance and mainstream solid-state storage. With advanced storage performance, reliability, and quality, the Vertex 450 utilizes 20nm process geometry NAND flash to meet the needs of today's high-end consumer and client applications.

"As one of the industry's most highly awarded SSD Series to date, the Vertex name has become synonymous with the latest and greatest in flash-based storage providing an exceptional balance of performance and cost efficiency," said Daryl Lang, Senior Vice President of Product Management for OCZ Technology. "The Vertex 450 marks the first time this popular OCZ series utilizes in-house ASIC technology delivering an even greater level of speed, reliability and value for our customers."

Replacing the 25nm-based Vertex 4, the new Vertex 450 uses NAND flash based on the state-of-the-art 20nm process geometry to deliver superior, cost-effective solid state storage and features. The Vertex 450 provides bandwidth of up to 540MB/s read, 530MB/s write, and 4K random write performance of up to 90,000 IOPS, dramatically accelerating gaming, content creation, and multimedia applications, while driving an improved overall computing experience.

It's definitely a strange one. I do believe there is scope for OCZ to prevail in this sector, with the right business model which hopefully RS has achieved. The silence is odd, but I think we should assume that the last announcements from RS still hold true, and until we hear any more that things are getting back on track. Obvious concerns are imminent- the Nasdaq listing requirements and recent loan agreement.

We have not heard anything negative for a while, so he may just pull it off. I think the old filings are really bad, and being purposefully held back as late as possible, and can only hope that when they are finally released, there will be some form of upgrade to the outlook (either new enterprise wins/raised guidance/profitable?)that will make them pretty old news and irrelevant. But I'm well aware that this is a somewhat rose tinted view! However, the bottom line remains that OCZ are an innovative company, with some superb products. All they need to do is sort out the business model, which is exactly what RS is currently doing.

Like many of you have been investing for many years but have never seen anything as strange as this....9 months to re-state figures, pretty much silence from the coampny, but Nasdaq not taking any action to delist....I have given this company too much trust over the last few years but my hope is there is some sort of "masterplan" which at least gets us back to $3/4. That could be announcement of numbers with strong forward guidance and a fund raise or of course a buy-out (not sure legally how that might work though given $9 fund raise). Worst case this is getting delisted / going bust fairly rapidly.....
