03/12/2012 15:40 | There are unconfirmed reports that earnings are out today after the close. | ch131
29/11/2012 22:12 | No problem- nice to be the bearer of good news for a change! Shouldn't be much more than a week or so now before the bad news is cleared out of the way, and that should open the door for institutional interest again. I imagine, that most institutions would stay away until the results are out- so the big volume today was most likely short covering- unless they realise what a bargain this is at this price - (bankruptcy seems much further away now...) and can't resist getting in. It seems to me with all the glowing reviews of the vector, and the reorganising, refocusing that RS is doing and has already done, that things are turning round very quickly indeed. In fact I'd stick ny neck out and say I think we'll be bought out within 12 months. | ch131
29/11/2012 21:05 | Interesting read. Thanks ch. | cervelo
29/11/2012 20:12 | May be insiders. But otherwise review of vector and new controller are positive so shorts probably closing. This all depends on if and how they inject new cash into the business. | legolass
29/11/2012 19:59 | My Vertex 4 256GB is aready out of date-lol. Very happy with the drive over last two months or so. | totally banjo
29/11/2012 19:44 | What's behind todays move? Is it just people seeing good potential, good volume to back it up. | cervelo
27/11/2012 15:14 | I don't normally read more than the last page of tech reviews, but found this interesting insight into the change in direction that OCZ is making on the 2nd page: "Most importantly, OCZ was very candid about their "lengthy and robust" testing validation cycle along with data and feedback collected from a large network of beta testers when developing the Vector series. On top of that, each drive is vigorously tested with a demanding burn-in procedure. They've also said that firmware cycles will be longer with increased scrutiny and validation prior to releases. Again, if you read the introduction, this is not the type of thing we've seen from OCZ in the past and as indicative of the paradigm shift that has occurred." | ch131
27/11/2012 14:32 | Initial reviews look very promising- notably the shift from performance to reliability/quality | ch131
27/11/2012 14:24 | OK, the Vector is out OCZ Launches Vector SSD Series and Proprietary Barefoot 3 Controller Delivering a Superior High Performance Storage Experience Groundbreaking Barefoot 3-Based Vector SSDs Deliver Enhanced Sustained Performance and Endurance for High Performance Computing Environments SAN JOSE, CA -- (MARKETWIRE) -- 11/27/12 -- OCZ Technology Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: OCZ), a leading provider of high-performance solid-state drives (SSDs) for computing devices and systems, today announced the availability of its new SATA III-based Vector SSD Series featuring the company's next-generation Indilinx Barefoot 3 controller. OCZ's worldwide technology hardware and firmware teams developed the new controller silicon and firmware completely in-house to enable full design control over the Vector SSD Series roadmap, while delivering exceptional I/O performance, enhanced reliability and endurance, and a host of differentiated features to empower high performance laptops, desktops, and workstations with superior storage capabilities. OCZ Vector SSDs provide exceptional input/output operations per second (IOPS) performance and the cutting-edge Barefoot 3 controller consistently delivers superior sustained performance over time regardless of whether the data streams are in compressed or uncompressed formats. As a result, this groundbreaking SSD series provides faster file transfers and boot-ups, and a quicker, more responsive storage experience. "The development of the Indilinx Barefoot 3 controller architecture is a crowning achievement in our company's history, being our first controller silicon and firmware completely designed in-house from start to finish using all of the OCZ technology development teams," said Ralph Schmitt, CEO for OCZ Technology. "These are the first SSD products delivered under the new OCZ and leverages cutting-edge controller technology to deliver a groundbreaking level of sustained performance and reliability for customers seeking a superior SSD for their high performance computing applications." The Vector SSD Series is available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities, and delivers read bandwidth of up to 550 MB/s, write bandwidth of up to 530 MB/s, random read performance of up to 100,000 IOPS. The Vector's ultra-slim, 7mm sleek alloy housing supports a wide spectrum of computers including the latest thin form factor notebooks, and each Vector SSD is also bundled with a 3.5-inch desktop adapter bracket and Acronis® True Image cloning software to enable quick and easy data transfer from legacy hard disk drive (HDD) storage to high performance Vector SSD storage. Endurance was a major priority in the design of the Vector Series, and the highly intelligent Barefoot 3 controller includes an advanced suite of flash management tools that can analyze and dynamically adapt to increasing NAND vulnerabilities as flash cells wear or process geometries get smaller. In this way, the Barefoot 3 controller overcomes the shortcomings associated with MLC NAND flash memory and is specified to deliver 20GB host writes per day for 5 years. This 5-year warranty ensures that Vector SSDs can be reliably used in a wide range of high performance computing environments over an extended lifetime. | ch131
21/11/2012 16:13 | HP bought Autonomy for 8.8 billion and have claimed that there were accounting irregularities. Bloody hell 8.8 billion similar like OCZ | whine
15/11/2012 18:55 | Yes, I thought likewise. RS is solid, and done this sort of thing before. I'm comfortable leaving my remaining shares for a few quarters for it to turn around, and topped up the spreadbet today. Who knows, what shape they'll be in next year, but I don't see it going much lower now- we just need to get all the skeletons out of the closet and behind us. | ch131
15/11/2012 13:12 | Anyone listen to the needham presentation? I would recommend it. We will have to suffer some further dilution but in terms of action and future strategy i thought our new ceo was excellent. | legolass
13/11/2012 12:56 | Orient Wake up and pleasse close your thread as no one is posting | whine
01/11/2012 17:49 | Results will be nasty, no doubt about it but maybe the blow will be softened with some positive news, hence the Piper Jaffray call. | ch131
01/11/2012 17:45 | Yes, finally some good, sensible news. OCZ had way too many products, that competed against each other- and nice to see a refocus of the brand away from the value end (I'm sure that put off the enterprise clients). The investor call is a positive sign- results should be out before then I would expect. It's a long way back up, but with new management this is starting to look promising again. | ch131
01/11/2012 14:03 | a little life today.. | cervelo

16/10/2012 15:27 | Mark Another 10% down This share is finished | whine |
