01/3/2021 16:38 | What many seem to have missed on here is that every positive test will end up checked by Novacyt to determine the type of variant. This is in addition to its own testing business. It is building a database in collaboration with many international organisations to monitor the different variants in many countries. | fuji99

01/3/2021 16:21 | The major challenge will be the new variants and WHO is able to detect them. This is where NCYT will prevail... | fuji99
01/3/2021 16:16 | At this rate the positive covid tests could be below 4,000 in a day! More people with colds per day!!! Death rate under 150 per day average coming, looks like it could be all over this summer. Testing needed but not in such a scale. If market looks forward only LFT or new types of fast tests needed, and pre travel aboard PCR needed if nothing comes to take it's place. | onehanded

01/3/2021 11:50 | Morning All, Well its been a bit of a rollercoaster in share price since the results. Lots of people talking about PCR V LFT. Here are a few facts that people cant argue with or make up as they are from the UK gov testing website. * There has been more PCR tests done in the first 2 months of 2021 than the last 2 months of 2020 * In the first 2 months of 2021, there has been more PCR tests than LFT by a factor of 2:1 * Using the data from the first 2 months of 2021 and extrapolating for the remaining 4 months until NCYT half year results(using the average 7 day PCR number of tests) H1 2021 UK PCR tests = 46.5m H2 2020 UK PCR tests = 44.6m NCYT revenue was £213m FOR H2 2020.. * These gov stats don't include the 200+ private clinics that are being set up to service the international air travel For what its worth, my view is that there is a need for both PCR and LFT going forward. LFT when you need a quick throw away result to enter a concert/schools etc. this is a cheaper, quicker but less accurate way of testing but gives you a practical way forward to open up certain venues with an acceptable degree of risk involved. PCR when you need to be 100% accurate the person dosnt have covid before being admitted. these include hospitals, flying to/from abroad etc. Then there are the space in between for example where you need an emergency operation and cant afford to wait for a covid test to be sent off to a lab for testing. this is where the NCYT portable test comes ins. I believe every hospital that do operations will have at least a couple of these moving forward. The share price has fallen way to far compared to its turnover and it will be seen as a minor blip in the long term scheme of things shareprice wise unless it is taken out before its allowed to show its true worth. | eastender boy |
