Garbetklb - well done you - kept forgetting! Interesting that perhaps reading through the lines of what you were hearing you decided to add.

I spoke to Chris Mellor, Co Sec.

Results historically come out "in May" - in answer to my suggestion of early May.

Expected in "days not weeks".

Not being drawn on reason for delay.

I bought 5,000 more at 385p.

Hi Skyship
Did you have a chance to call them?

Last year's Finals were out on 13th May. It is now the 22nd. Are they waiting for something important to declare? Think I'll call them tomorrow...

RJ - thanks for that - very interesting. CR a bit of a specialist animal; but that hasn't stopped newbie FLX from soaring to crazy heights. CR a more seasoned and political animal; but also involved in the protection business.

Did anyone pick up on the recent Sunday Times list of fast profits growth UK private co's? Control Risks was no. 45, with profit at £15.2m, +59%. If, big if, the company was quoted, maybe the value could be say 18x £12m post tax earnings= £216m. NRI own 6.1%, so £13.1m, v £6.8m in books. That would add 72p to NAV for NRI. Speculative, but interesting...

With the discount to nav having narrowed and the brookwell stock overhang, the tender was an exit point for me, I tendered and sold the balance.
Thanks to skyship for flagging this up elsewhere, it has been a useful investment.
Will sit on the sidelines and wait until brookwell have made their exit.

In 50k lots perhaps - though you would need a physical broker to do so. I assume you have; but if not, let me know and I'll suggest someone I suspect you know from these Boards.

(Though possibly a £200k purchase might be a bit strong even for you Garbetklb!)

I'd imagine Brookwell would be keen to sell their remaining shares - might they be worth approaching directly, for a large enough order?

Sadly only got 37% (tendered my whole holding). But profit is profit and I will now consider what to do with the proceeds.

Barclays have processed the second part of my tender overnight and cash now in my account.

Having sold a total of 54% shares in the tender for a return of over 40% (thanks again Skyship) I'm planning to sit on the remainder and maybe buy back some of those sold if the offer price goes below 390p.

Looks as though Brookwell disposed of 35.5% of their holding in the Tender.

Their holding has reduced to 481,198 shares.

Apologies to the rest of the readers and contributors to this thread, which exists for a very good reason. Of course my last post was extremely off topic, with absolutely no little reference to NRI.

And in no way do I regret posting it.........

damanko = wow - FIT. Well done you. Would love to be playing cricket down here in SW France each summer; but a bad back limited me to one session as an umpire. That day it was c37c and the 2nd umpire did a no-show. I really suffered that day and had to hang up my boots! Only ever played village cricket - but so much fun. Is your cricket in Alicante as part of a touring team?

Garbetklb - you're quite right, that is probably enough for now. You've done well so far, it's finding the next NRI that may prove impossible, so I'm in no hurry. While in the sun I'll do some research in DEVRO and Fortune Oil, both of which look interesting. I no longer go for anything that doesn't have a decent (and covered) yield. Though I'm 'stuck' with a decent sized holding in Pantheon going back to the 80's, which yields sweet nothing. Difficult to argue with the capital growth though. Some 14 years ago they paid out £2.00 per share in cash to holders, happen they're mulling something similar now (he hopes.....).

SKY - thanks. Will look at the hotel link. Am off though near to Alicante, and it will be no holiday ...... tennis each morning, and 4 consecutive games of cricket in the afternoons. Tough and all that bazooka, I know........

Called Barclays today about the non appearance of the money for the 'excess' shares - just been called back with

'they only received the money today and it will be credited to accounts shortly (within 3 days) but probably overnight'

Damanko - bonnes vacances

Coincidentally we were just discussing a trip across the border into NW Spain for sometime later this month or next.

Friends highly recommend this hotel - fantastic value Fawlty Towers hotel run by a Brit:

Buy order for 10,000 @ 400p filled. So with 20,000 shares bought back this morning, I think that's enough - unless there is a significant drop in price in the coming weeks.

What appeals about NVM/NRI is the steady uplift in NAV when investments are realised. I don't think there is as much value now as in the past - and it's a lot more dependent on a couple of underlying investments, so I'll not buy back to anywhere near the same level.
I bought my holdings during 2012 at around 250p and tendered/recycled in December - so not as good as you, but still an excellent investment. Whilst my initial small investment was a bit of a mistake (I failed to notice they were in wind up!), I subsequently went very over-allocation having studied the realisation patterns etc.
It's nowhere near as easy to play the IT discounts now, but I need to spend some time looking. SKYSHIP has pointed towards Candover - I looked at it a while back, but wasn't impressed; will take another look; again seems v dependent upon a key holding (Expro).
I suspect I'll put a % into emerging Market ITs
Any thoughts welsome! Wil post when I've come to any conclusions.

Garbetklb - hope all goes well with your 'new' holding in NRI, I reckon there is quite a bit of value yet to be unlocked.

However I purchased my holding in NRI in the summer of 2010, at an original price of £1.60 odd. With previous tenders, capped off by this one at 100% allocation, I think it's time I got out and stayed out.

It's been a case of very lucky timing, or amazing foresight, I'm not certain which, but it's time for me to exit. Off to Spain on Thursday, so will have a think in the sun about what to invest in next. I would bet a large amount of money that whatever I decide, the investment won't give the 4 year return I've received here.

Rather to my surprise, I had 100% acceptance of my 100% tender - leaving me with no NRI! This was via Alliance Trust (as Damanko) - in the past ATS have been a good way of playing the tnender game because their high Corporate Action fee dissuaded holders from tendering. This fee has now been removed, so I was v unsure how it would play out in acceptance levels this time. ATS took over the self administered investment scheme from NVM a while back which partly explains why their nominee a/c holds way above natural market share in NRI. Believe several of the NVM management team hold their shares via ATS too - the RNS re Alastair Conn showed he did, and he tendered a v small % of his large holding.

Bought back 10,000 this am at 405p - more than I'd like to have paid, but made turn of about 7p/£700 on the 10,000 in the higher than anticipated tender take up, so reasonably relaxed. Will buy back more if/when the price drops a bit - and when I've decided my tolerance level to Kerridge. I have a buy order in the market.

Well, Alliance has this morning credited my SIPP deposit account with cash equivalent to 100% of my holding in Northern Investors. I'll wait a couple of days until receiving written confirmation in letter/statement form.

Actually this is one of the reasons I use ATS, each and every deal/transaction I make is subsequently confirmed by post. Makes the admin side of things very easy.

Good luck to all holders.
