29/1/2023 12:45 | Well we did try, despite having all the possession, with Halifax having little to offer we only managed 1-0 win. I get irritated by the constant passing to goalie and fellow defenders but that's down to the coach. | blueliner
28/1/2023 13:29 | Thanks Wllm. Good start to the year for small caps - after a terrible year last year. | dr biotech

28/1/2023 00:15 | wllm, that sounds like a really nasty infection. Keep warm and get well soon. | philanderer
27/1/2023 21:12 | I've had a rubbish week, still in bed with a UTI, temperature is up and down but spiking at 38c/39c. I've been munching away on antibiotics and paracetamol but will force myself to go out tomorrow even for a little while. Bathroom fitters are due to start work on the small cloakroom and larger family bathroom on Monday, unfortunately, they called today to say there is a delay in getting the taps for the big bathroom and that won't start now until mid-February. To top it all looks like I'm bottom of the pile. YTD +1.86% wllm :) | wllmherk
27/1/2023 19:05 | +0.13% folio, [FTSE All-Share the same +0.13%] UPGS +6.25% best riser, BHP worst faller, IGR worst intra day faller On the week +1.16% Share of the week : IGR Faller of the week : SCLP Folio YTD +5% FC Halifax Town are our visitors tomorrow, we need to get back on track. Our ex coach who left us suddenly to go to FGR after our last season play off failure has now been sacked by them. Serves him right, not a lot of sympathy here. Enjoy your w/e. | blueliner
27/1/2023 18:46 | Had a decent week up +2.4% Trying to identify the main gainers but pretty much all my holdings were up on the week as were funds. SNR, LLOY, IPU, S32 to name a few.. HFEL went XD yesterday so looking forward to receiving that :) Added some BOOT today. YTD now +2.69 Good weekend all! Least it's warmed up - might try and give the car a good clean tomorrow and polish! | carpingtris
27/1/2023 17:55 | I finished up 0.38%, +1.76% on the week and +6.32% YTD. Out for a couple of beers and an Indian tomorrow night for my youngest daughter's 35th. Enjoy your weekend. | skinny
27/1/2023 17:47 | 4/7 on the Quiz. I'm up +0.071% on the day today (FTSE100 +0.052%)< up +0.83% on the week (FTSE100 -0.07%) and up +4.85% YTD (FTSE100 +4.21% and HIX +4.72%. Best rises: SGRO +1.96%, TW. +1.63% and PHP +1.60%. Worst falls: WDS -2.52%, TATE -1.64% and S32 -1.47%. Oils and miners suffered today. I needed to raise some cash to pay for my roof, so sold CPG and MKS, my two lowest/non yielders. Nothing withdrawn yet, but I shall offset that. A good wake this afternoon. Now for the Fish & Chips. 27/1/2023 17:11 | I was having a storming morning and then it all went volatile and mixed in the afternoon, taking a lot of the shine off a big lunchtime rise but still a substantial gain of +0.9%. It's been a bumper week, taking me up to +6.1%. That's brilliant considering it was shaved back slightly by paying my tax bill, and nearly matches my gain for the whole of last year. Odd thing is, I'm quite pessimistic. Most things went a bit volatile in the afternoon, especially in the last hour - forex, commodities, shares and bonds. It bodes ill, I think, as markets seem to argue with the Fed about the need for further rises ahead of next week's meeting. A few pundits have been writing about it. A very grey day again but it did not feel cold generally, with a minimal northerly that was easy to hide from. I manage another bike ride where the windchill was still there but lessened. I found plenty of people out on on cycle paths being frustratingly inconsiderate again. As a bonus, there's still seen no sign of sweeping up leaf mulch or broken twigs and we now have the first pot-holes appearing. Weather looks reasonably dry for the weekend as wind increases. Have a good one. | aleman
27/1/2023 17:06 | Portfolio +0.16% saved by WIX, UPGS and SBRY. Very poor week -0.88% making +3.01% YTD Plenty of sunshine but still feeling very cold 6C. Got the Peugeot back with a renewed MOT and newly made/fitted copper brake pipes. QPR at Hull tomorrow , we're out for a vietnamese lunch. Hike on sunday, hopefully a little warmer. Plenty of FA Cup football on TV. Good weekend everyone | philanderer
27/1/2023 16:55 | In spite of being down first thing ended up 0.5% Best risers UPGS,DOCS.SDI. Worst fallers HAT,RIO,RR.,WDS on the week +0.52% YTD +4.04 | malcolm caton
27/1/2023 16:45 | A decent day for me despite the large fall in SDRY - up 0.5% UPGS the outstanding value riser for me after a few weak days. My commercial property and small cap trusts have also improved over the last few weeks. A few decent dividends to add in as well takes my YTD to 6.6% Played tennis last night, we are making a late push for promotion but no thanks to me. I did manage a double bagel 6-0, 6-0 win but that was only because in the first match our opponent sustained a nasty eye injury when our player volleyed one into him. Hopefully no more than a black eye and a bit of bruising but you don't want to see other players injured like that. I'm not against aiming it into the body though. | dr biotech
27/1/2023 14:38 | My lot are still positive on the day but certainly by less than they were earlier! Lovely down the marina at lunchtime but a very bitter wind. | mrphil |
