bl - how do you get +2.2% for NAH out of curiosity?

My monitor has quoted 129/135 (no UT) today from 126.25/129.75 (UT126) yesterday. That takes the mid from 128p to 132p - up 3.125%. However, my monitor is stupid and prefers misleading UT prices where available so quoted a rise from 126p to 132p - up 4.8%.

I'm not particularly bothered. I just like to understand the vaguaries of the systems we use. It can come in handy to know when odd things happen.

Several strong results statements today and interest in some of the smaller miners provided a welcome boost, leading to my best day value-wise since 24th April.

POG and RPC are the two clear stand out value risers with POG just about nudging ahead to take the top spot. Value fallers are very thin on the ground, MTO takes the wooden spoon but gives back only small change value-wise.

+1.15% gives me a new all time high and substantially ahead of my forecast at the start of the year. The second half is traditionally stronger but I am increasingly concerned about the resilience of the UK in the face of all the headwinds and whether Q4 will present a very different outcome. I hope I am proved wrong!

+0.42% today. [FTSE250 +0.41%] couldn't get much closer.

Highest value risers : BGO +3.6%, CLIG +3.7%, CNCT +2.9%, NAH +2.2%.

Relieved to see CNCT, MARS, NAH taking the downward pressure off.
Reassuring signals from CLIG particularily in upping the dividend.

No fallers of note. edit just found one : RMS -2.8% FTSE100 biggest faller.

Remains dry here, max temp 23C

I'm up +0.527% on the day today (FTSE100 +0.551%).

Best rises: TW. +2.20%, LLOY +1.76% and PSON +1.67%.

Worst falls: CLLN -3.68%, KGF -1.62% and INDV -0.38%.

CLLN remains volatile. Good rise in RB. on a disposal.

Skinny, you remind me of the time that we made marrow rum, cut the end of a big one, scooped out the seed and then filled it with demerara sugar. Hung it up in a mesh bag over a bucket and allowed it to drip in until nom more came out. Then we fermented it in the usual demijohn and got about a bottle and a half. It went down well at Christmas at work.

SIPP +0.33% LLOY, FUM & BDEV (sill not doubled up on BDEV!) and +0.36% for the pot LLOY, LGEN & RR.

Much cooler here today and been drizzling for most of the day despite no rain at all being forecast! Lunch on board was still very pleasant, even with all the covers on!

Lots of catching up to do on the tele tonight.

+0.3%. NAH rose pushing 5%. I did not know the trading update was coming when I posted yesterday. Still looking like a 10% yield to come.

Cool greyish start. Warm and sticky afternoon when sun came out for a few hours. 26.0C. Now grey again and cooling but still a bit sticky. Could do with rain. Grass is going brown and I'm sick of watering stuff. Our Great Poplar is getting yellow tinges.

Losing paperwork on collateralised student loan backed securities. They clearly did not learn from losing paperwork on collateralised mortgage backed securities. Investors will lose $billions as loans are forgiven. Never underestimate stupidity!

I see S&P500 and Nasdaq hit new highs despite earnings forecasts starting to weaken as bigger companies seem to be starting to get drawn in to downgrades. IBM disappointed slightly today and saw significant cuts by anaysts, after that bad miss by Harley D.

I've got another 30 or so similar 'courgettes'.

My SIPP finished up 0.39%.

A greyish but warm day @27°C.

Sure there are people really struggling, but a lot of financial pressures are due to priorities being all wrong. In the days when I was literally foraging the hedgerows, I wouldn't dream of spending money on tv's, phones, holidays, smoking, drinking etc etc

Goodness!. I don't like small ones. I hate yours, Skinny! :-)

I'm sick of hearing today about financial pressures due to people living longer. Actuaries say we are not!

Skinny, that was a very expensive mistake! I remember a story my Dad told of how he had agreed to "buy" my granddad's house from the landlord by way of monthly payments on a gentleman's agreement but when the chips were down the landlord shafted him and claimed they were rental payments! It was only an old end of terrace in Portsmouth so not a large property but probably worth around £200K today.

The SIPP is trying hard to hold on to a small gain this morning.

I've had an email from Photobucket saying they are going to stop the facility to embed photos on to 3rd party sites unless you pay for a premium service. Not inclined to do that so may need to find another provider.

Getting a bit frustrated with PETS, reaching the stage where I can't decide whether to dump and forget or average down as I still see more value there in the long run.

Morning All.

Thanks Hyden, brings it home how fragile we can be!

We saw 29.2°C yesterday and felt every degree! As promised, the day ended in heavy rain and thunderstorms, reducing our 2 hour tennis session to around 20 minutes and five games split over two brief sessions before we gave up. Low last night of 17.2°C with more rain and thunder.

Starting to get all my info ready for the tax return as I know I have a bill coming in January. Had a year off due to a poor dividend year in 2015 but it is about to catch up with me!

I'm up +0.118% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.188%).

Best rises: CLLN +5.53%, INDV +3.51% and BLND +3.15%.

Worst falls: BATS -1.28%, SMDS -1.06% and BLT -0.76%.

Added to my holding of WMH today. A bit of a nothing day otherwise. I see that the CPI was unchanged this month. Down year on year but actually unchanged. Spin is everything.

Up a few coppers, today.

Not as warm as yesterday, at 25.5C, and cooling already a little in a northerly, which is a bit odd as the wind is supposed to be ESE, although I think it might be starting to swing around again. I hope that means thunderstorms are less likely - although we could do with rain again.

Tennis this evening if the rain stays away, then second episode of "In The Dark".

+0.41%, doing better than yesterday when I held the biggest FTSE100 faller today I hold the highest riser.
[FTSE250 +0.48%]

Highest value risers : BGO +15.8%, IRV +4%, TCAP +1.9%, KCOM +2.5%, RMG +3.1%.

Worst value fallers : IGR -2.9%, LLPC -2.5%.

Another ST inspired move up for BGO, feeling giddy.
NAH is currently one of my worst value fallers as bought before the XD date plus top up, but has a respectable stock rank of 87/100 on Stockopedia.

Watched final of Fearless last night, was I missing something?
