Surely it's the actual insulation used within the cladding which is the issue here? If that wasn't flammable then the aluminium couldn't have caught alight!

Surely if "average supply of stock has hit another record low" then that's going to put upward pressure on prices?

US deficit is up over 30% YTD. When will markets take note? Will Trump cut spending or raise taxes into a slowing economy?

Morning All.

Getting a bit warmer again, we reached 25°C yesterday.

Hyden, well done for your daughter, West End beckons?! Our grandson was Joseph last year at aged 4, and we were really proud!

Odd that CRV have gone down. Stockmarket is behaving very strangely of late, with (some reckless) shorting seemingly in the ascendancy again.

THere might be a quick trade for risk-tolerant investors at CRV.

Good numbers form Hays but tough trading reported in the UK. Why does this not tie in with UK ILO employment numbers?. Recruitment consultants have been reporting a difficult UK market for some time, more in line with Claimant Count.

After BEG reported better numbers of appointments, RFX report strong trading. That's two normally countercyclical companies with good news this week.

+0.34% for the Folio. [FTSE250 +0.78%]

Highest value risers : IGR +2.2%, BT.A +4%, BAB +4.7%, MARS +2%, CNCT +2.8%.

Worst value fallers : CSN -2.5%, HSD -2.4%.

A turn round from yesterday for my 2 overweight holdings and a real bit of good fortune with BAB as the price just fell away after my disposal sale.

A nondescript weather day here, have noticed that this years ' Le Tour ' hasn't enjoyed much better either so far..

Just got back from the dump with 4 bags full of bramble prunings. It all started because I had trouble getting the mower from the shed to the lawn, because of the Buddleia drooping. That led to to the brambles.

I'm up +0.686% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.047%).

Best rises: BT.A +3.96%, MKS +3.42% and TW. +3.33%.

Worst falls: AZN -3.45%, CLLN -3.06% and RIO -0.96%.

A big reversal of the holdings in my portfolio. CLLN up over 10% in the middle of the day then fell back. AZN is the big upset and the miners had a poor day.

Time to eat.

Well, somebody keeps eating our strawberries overnight! I usually catch blackbirds but haven't seen them near.

BBC have forecasted not as cold yet their graphic says 14C for urban Northern England - colder than the 15C they had last night when suggesting possible rural frost at the same time. (7-10C was the result.) What are we supposed to think? They are forecasting hot days and cool nights from Monday next week - typically 26C/10C. I hope they get that right!

Up to recently it has been rather on the dry side this spring/summer. Hedgehogs eat worms, slugs and the like, these tend to come out when it is wet, perhaps the recent rain has allowed the hedgehog to feed up a bit and hence he may be making the most of it daytime and night?

Poor day for me.

Sunny and not to hot.

+0.2%.

I was expecting a fresh 21C today but we had a bright morning that warmed quickly to give way to a cloudy and slightly muggy 24.8C.

Pleased to report a second day of gains! SIPP +0.57% LLOY, TCN & PVCS and the pot +0.26% LLOY, LGEN & DC.

Also just completed our own half year accounts showing a healthy gain over last year in both turnover & profit. Market feels tougher but we seem to be holding our own so far.

Who Do You Think You Are tonight, plus a bit of tidying up in the garden to remove the finished flower heads from Foxgloves, big Daisies and a couple of other early flowering plants. I see the boss added some begonias out the front this morning with the help of the granddaughter, so they will have been well watered!

I've seen our resident hedgehog crossing the lawn again this afternoon. It disappeared into our compost heap and looks to possibly be residing there. It appeared to be in fine fettle.
