I just doubled my tiny position here. The stock goes ex a 4 pence a total, well covered dividend tomorrow (effective 6% yield), is as usual cheap as chips (historic p/e x4.5), twice as much cash (£3mn) as debt and a more friendly approach to private investors. Ok, it's a mini-conglomerate in the building industry, the shares are illiquid and the outlook uncertain despite the upbeat statement with the full year results. But happy to take a slightly bigger chance.

The formal way is to get a letter from your nominee which authorises you to act on their behalf in respect of x number of shares. It depends who you are with. iWeb are excellent and do not charge but x-o want £20 for it. Alternatively approach NTBR and ask to be allowed in as a non-voting observer.

Im considering it. Only hold the shares in nominee accounts so would need to make sure they were ok with that.

Ask is now at 70p ...it takes very little buying of NTBR to produce an uptick. f

Over 270,000 shares sold by Wensley Roofing over the last few days.....and share price nudging up.....that seems pretty positive to me!

I see that the A.G.M. is at 11:00 a.m. this year, presumably after holders complained about it being at the back end of nowhere at 9:00.

You are right zoolook, I can confirm that I was happy with the results and also that I have a hangover after the cricket. Making friends with the guy in the seat next to me, who brought in the Veueve Cliquot, was also a master stroke. The point about them being more "investor friendly" is also true...I think they have taken investor criticism on board...are certainly more engaging and proactive than was the case a year ago...and thought the RNS today was very clear and honest, while directly confronting some of the criticisms we had. Profit number was a little better than I expected, cash generation excellent. The sales and margin % both good...and ordinarily we might have hoped for a better increase in Profit given the Sales/Margin performance. Clearly much of the benefit has flowed through into divisional bonuses...and again they explain this honestly, as the major reason why Admin costs increased by £1.3m. This "bonus" cost is now in the base numbers...and at least we can hope/expect we would save money on this line if trading was more difficult..and it therefore forms something of a "buffer" to maintain profits.

You’d think so. I’ve filled up this morning. The tone of the statement was far more open and investor friendly. The good results and a change in attitude/culture should be a trigger for that sort of rise. Liked that they had adopted an way to finding new acquisitions too suggesting a generally more proactive attitude.

Yes astonishingly cheap. Market slow on the uptake. Too many hangovers after the cricket

Very decent results, reassuring/positive update, and scope for acquisitions and to grow profitability, but also not overpromising given Brexit and nature of industry visibility etc. Hardly surprising. Look forward to the big div to come and hopefully a positive trading update before the next figures. And so cheap, surely someone might run the slide rule over ntbr itself at some point.

It looks like the business continues to progress and they want to increase cash balances to help with further acquisitions.
