Exbroker, I think we're largely in agreement, I take a differing view and think because profits will be ahead this year, they will also pay a special dividend in addition to the final but it may depend on the outlook for the year ahead.

they must have a broker ..they could get them to write some research (with numbers/forecasts) and promote the company a bit more as it appears to be doing very well.

Daz I think you are overly optimistic about the dividend, the last 2 years they have paid a special of 1.5 and this year 1p. I expect this year no special but a final of 3.25 to 3.5p

Grumpy bunch as far as I can make out! Not sure about 100p yet but 90 seems a pretty much given in the short term.

All looks promising. Just a pity they don't give us some numbers to chew on.

As previously the fall from the mid 80's over the past month completely unjustified. Certainly agree this should be testing £1. Completely unloved / overlooked and the company itself needs to look at this

There is no broker coverage for the company, so you won't see any forecasts. Last year, they did 12.5p in adjusted earnings per share, I would think they are on for something like 14p this year and a total dividend of 5p, putting the shares on a forward p/e of 5.5 and a yield of 6%, very solid value given the lack of downside after today's update

yep ... not a very liquid market I got stung on a sale once My more recent buy or sell strategy is to put an offer up - and see if it gets matched (or whatever the equivalent term is) the market makers must have a field day

Quoting 79 for as few as 500 shares, although the indicative price is 75.

Not an agm update but they have added a news feed to the website recently presumably in an effort to improve shareholder communications which is encouraging. The idea is to include some updates on operational progress that wouldn’t need to go out via RNS but would add a bit more colour to the business in between trading updates. The link to sign up is: hxxp://northernbearplc.com/news/

simso - I can't see where you get the 2.5m from and it is not 30% of the mcap which is £15m. What have HVN and RTC got to do with it - they are recruiters. Are you on the right thread?

This does look increasingly like a sitting duck for acquisition. The business is owed c£2.5m more than in owes, so has a positive net working capital balance of £2.5m, equating to c30% of the Market Cap. HVN has a negative net working capital balance of -£5m. Even if an Aquirer paid £12m, 50% more than the current price, it would be getting: 1) £2.5m of Net Working Capital,as the business is owed £2.5m more than it owes in total (HVN equivalent number is -£5m). Agree with David's point about the need to consider Receivables and not just the Debt secured against those receivables in isolation. 2) a Forecast PBT for 2018 of £1.8m, rising to £2.1m next year, 3) Significant Central Cost savings. The RTC Board remuneration was £800k last year. Some of the Back of House functions like Finance, IT and HR could fulfilled by the Acquirer's existing structure. Surely at least £1m of costs could be saved...and potentially more? An Acquirer who pays £12m to get £2.5m of net working capital and potentially £3m profit pa after savings looks like a bargain price. Surely predators must be running their slide rules over this.

sbs said.....Some people pop into AGMs before work. If you set a later time, they have to take half a day's holiday. The only people who remotely gain from such an early Agm time are the directors. They will have no shareholders there and so able to get on with whatever they want for the rest of the day. The time has been set without any thought for shareholders who actually own the company and who AGMs are actually for !!! I wonder how often the board actually think about shareholders and their needs and how often they ever meet them in a year ?
