28/5/2015 07:51 | On separate point.. 1) the MDs wages now look very high wrt company situation... ..were high before....noting other dir. looks after all of Asia..but not so visible when co. doing well...and making acquisitions.. 2) imho the institutions should consider to force the ratio of "Shares held/options held" by the MD and any dir. to be less than X... always have fewer options than shares held ? Otherwise dirs. can make decisions thinking of their big options package.....take too much risk....or too much Capex at wrong time, as here. | smithie6
28/5/2015 07:47 | Management way behind the curve as I suspected - see post 1545 above. Mr Persey must be feeling a lot poorer today - OK I have taken a small hit myself (MEMO self Remember falling knives can continue falling until I run out of cash !!) - Question - To fold or double up ?? Decisions Decisions - Possibly best if i buy a new pair of heavy boots with which to administer chastisment to the so called Management. | pugugly
28/5/2015 07:45 | ..I bought in ..1-2 days before Woody !...under 300... ..expected it to rise from recent 310p buy price ..since movement looked solid.... But due to complete luck I sold 1/2 a week or so ago and rest yesterday !!...to buy something...been interesting days recently on AIM..numerous risers...luckily Im in some) (Although I have exposure via indirect holding...which I reduced before..but still got chunk) ---- Woody's warning about depreciation hitting PAT numbers...it has come true...sadly | smithie6
28/5/2015 07:39 | ...btw...I posted before that high capex in H2 would turn round and bite them.....imo it has...imho it was a mistake....imo quite an obvious/stupid mistake...oil price collapsing yet they didnt plan ahead and kept capex very high...only to realise their mistake a few months later Sadly, human nature....we often dont take action till late in day or last moment ...when it is obvious .. | smithie6
28/5/2015 07:36 | ....news has been handled badly imho... From "poor visibility" to " loss making H1 ..bad till 2016/7 !!" with NO NEWS or warning in between.... Seems normal for uk...but imho investors should be informed better...in return for risking their cash....imho there should have been news between the 'dont know' and 'terrible' news On the plus side...at least the dirs. were not off loading shares while hiding the news.. | smithie6
28/5/2015 07:22 | Woody, Also bailed on the news. Selling businesses is extreme. I've learned not to buy hire companies leading into a customer downturn. Bloody obvious really! apad | apad
28/5/2015 07:12 | It was good to me on the way up i made quite a significant profit on NBI, not so nice giving a bit back. Divi will most likely be slashed imv. I noted some time ago that the problem with hire businesses is the double whammy of having equipment depreciating when not out on hire and the costs of financing the fleet of equipment too when it's returning no income. It seems they've been hit quite hard on this basis. i can see sub £2 wc | woodcutter
28/5/2015 07:08 | Sold 4K shares on what appears to be a pretty bad profit warning imv. Can't see a recovery now for some time which is sad as it's a good well run business. Expect the share price to drift considerably lower. Should've kept to my beleif that there was much more bad news on the way but thought the share price had fallen sufficiently to take in all possible options. We live and learn woody | woodcutter
28/5/2015 07:07 | Well looks like trading has got a whole lot worse. No mention of what this means for the dividend, but looks like a cut is on the cards to me. | topvest
20/5/2015 16:03 | added a few more wc | woodcutter
11/5/2015 13:45 | bought back today, initial purchase with tight stop, just 2K's shares for now. wc | woodcutter
08/5/2015 13:47 | Anyone kow anything about a private investor Mr R. Persey who has just increased his holding in Northbridge by some 93,000 share. NB He also hold 6.09% (refs) in Software Radio Technologies. | pugugly
21/4/2015 10:16 | ..rather than options ..be better if dirs. bt. shares ....with hard cash... | smithie6
21/4/2015 10:15 | Hi Woody ...didnt take that many options imo....although the MD now has a big total option number....but issued bit by bit over the yrs...and at the mkt price at the time...and although Im often cynical about dirs. and options I dont see much problem with NBI options ... (one could phps argue that if co. is now less profitable thst the MDs pay is a touch high noting other dir. looks after Asia...but he's done well so I guess no serious complaints ..) Instuts. own the co. so ..hopefully they'll keep things on line for pay etc... | smithie6
21/4/2015 07:20 | directors taking large options on the share price drop rather cheeky! still it should give some level of comfort that they think it's near the bottom. will wait patiently for the reversal signal. aimho woody. | woodcutter
20/4/2015 15:00 | few buys at 353p...ouch !.... the RNS ..issuing otions to dirs. clearly not encouraged buyers to hold up the price... | smithie6
14/4/2015 20:16 | Happy to hold with the rest, after top-slicing higher. Probably should have sold more like WSE in the good times. It will take 2+ years to get back to £6 in my view, so hang on for the wait. | topvest
14/4/2015 11:17 | apologies...4 decimal places in eps calc....apologies, I was taking the mickey....bit unkind of me after you were good enough to post your informative calcs. and notes.... ----- .....reading thru posts over last few months....some good informed opinions from various ppl imho -- ...greed versus fear....interesting how the 2 affect mkt mood & sh. prices...NBI share price chart quite a picture over last 2 yrs !...roller coaster... | smithie6
14/4/2015 10:34 | Smithie6 - Mea Culpa - Yes you are right transposition Should have been 430p All calculations were done on 430. Re decimals -(Kind of you to say) I have set up a block on Excell so I can plug in results and possible forward p/e's etc as soon as the results are out. Post 1534 now edited to show correct 430p. | pugugly
14/4/2015 10:16 | Pug you posted wrong sh. price btw 403p bid....not 340p....I guess you made a typo... ....your eps calc. shows 4 decimal places....impressive !! | smithie6
14/4/2015 08:54 | Agreed now very much ex-growth and therefore forward p/e still to high as I agree with topvest 25p or less fro thsi year very possible. At current offer price of 430p (340 deleted and replaced by correct price) forward and trailing p/es to rich for me - I could see significant capital loss from current bid/offer Figures below possible guestimates for discussion. (e&or - dyor etc) Yield on cost 1.42% Yield on mv say 1.47% Historic eps 2014 SAY P/Y 0.325 Estimated eps 2015…… Estimated eps 2016…… Forward pe ratio…2015R Forward pe ratio…2016R Historic p/e 2014 13.2308 Probable read across to other oil service coys ? However as per my 1522 above the writing was on the wall and we should not have been surprised. | pugugly
14/4/2015 06:44 | Well results are a tad disappointing as they are below forecasts both on the EPS and DPS lines. Profit warning for 2015 as well, so earnings per share will be pulled back sharply from the 35p expected which was unrealistic anyway in this market. Dividend growth weak as well. Can see EPS in 2015 be back down to 25p or less. Still a good business and happy to hold my reduced stake. Gone EX-growth for now though. | topvest |
