11/4/2020 15:44 | Hi ali47fish. Hope you're well. I remember you from the private chatroom :-) Any rise and sustainability ultimately boils down to confidence. In a market like this you can't categorically say whether a stock holds its bounce. If you look at the wider market, alot of the indices and stocks have recovered around half of their losses so from the technical bounce perspective, there is an argument to say this one has more to go. However, we have had manic markets of late with so much negative news and panic that stocks are bouncing around 10-15% both ways like it is nothing. I put a post on the EPWN board about the recent experiences with one such example - OTB. This stock has lagged the market and its clearly positive to have seen the buyers in size around the mid and late 120's mopping up all the sellers to allow this bounce to begin. There have been buyers in size around and just below that 140 level on Thursday so that's another encouraging sign. It could also suggest that any dip does get bought. If you're a longer term surely you just hang on here unless you're of the view that there is a very extended shut down and it really is going to be a case of a severe survival scenario (unlikely imo but form your own opinions please). If you're shorter term (most of my trades are), judge it according to how the buyers react on different days and how the wider markets are moving. It's always massively encouraging in seeing stocks getting bought up on down days and finishing flat or even up. There have been positive signs of late with stocks bouncing on bad news and bad news getting bought up, however there is still a case for the market having got ahead of itself because we don't truly know how the virus plays out or whether it springs back up again with wave two. From a shorter term perspective, take profits into the rise. You could book half at certain points and let the rest run and see how the wider markets move. If the wider market has been too optimistic about this bounce from the lows, then clearly another lurch down will take the majority of stocks with it, which brings us back to confidence. | sphere25
09/4/2020 15:38 | Sphere- do you think the rise is sustainable - apart from the seller being cleared what might drive the share price higher? Anyway, Allianz global has invested 5pc | ali47fish
09/4/2020 12:28 | Had a nibble @ 142.54p. Trade not showing either. That's a mighty big bowl(potentially!). | gymratt
09/4/2020 11:18 | Interesting my buy trade not showing? | maverick081267
08/4/2020 10:39 | Price 143p +12% Prior posts have come to fruition. Lovely initial move post the sellers being cleared. I'd really expect this to push on strong from here now, particularly in light of how oversold it has been and the recovery bounces in the majority of the wider market. As an example of that, longed OTB yesterday and it shot up 25% today. These 20% + moves are very common in this type of market so let's hope NXR does it too. Longed some FLTA too yesterday as that has a similar theme to NXR where it looks like sellers have been cleared and could bounce so one to watch after doing your own due diligence. | sphere25
08/4/2020 09:27 | Could well be.. looking like it wants to move up.Took a few here anyway.Annoyed as was gonna buy the other day so had to pay a few pennies more now. | tole
08/4/2020 09:22 | Is that it? Seller at 128 cleared? 1.7m volume so far. | sphere25
07/4/2020 13:06 | There is more interest in the stock today with far more bids on the book. We are continuing to see decent sized blocks being placed by (possibly distressed) sellers today with numerous chunks around the 280k mark as well as a 400k and 500k. That's the only reason this stock hasn't bounced imo. When these get placed, this stock shoots higher imo - it has just been beaten down too much. The issue with illiquid stocks like this is that these sellers have to take them down alot further than others because it is harder to find the buyers in size. They definitely go into stronger and longer term hands now. Furthermore, if you look around the market, alot of stocks have bounced ferociously, even in light of the uncertainty and the US (although still very uncertain) has currently made its first real bullish chart move. Clearly the situation is fluid, but I'd have thought this stock would at least be due an oversold bounce. I'm nibbling here whilst the stock is there because once it gets placed, stocks like this will race higher on minimal volume with small buys shifting the price. As per other posts now, be careful out there too folks. It is still HIGHLY VOLATILE and HIGHLY UNCERTAIN so manage risk accordingly. Slow and steady wins the race. | sphere25
07/4/2020 10:45 | I continue to hold. If I was a new buyer I'd find it difficult to value. Too much uncertainty at present. That can be said about most stocks. We need more clarity. People have to decide if this is a bottom for the market as a whole, if it is there is serious money to be made from here. If it isn't then sit on your hands. | sg31
07/4/2020 09:14 | A bit self-indulgent perhaps, but i attach what i wrote last time I bought. A lot of it remains valid- I think.... This has always been a cheap stock and now it is extraordinarily cheap IMHO . Robsy2 - 14 Nov 2017 - 16:10:16 - 2963 of 3223 Time to take a shower in Norcros shares. - NXR I am in . The valuation surprises me, see analysis from Edison. it ticks a lot of boxes.I have had a good look and can't see why it's so lowly rated..... They have a clear plan , seem to be executing it well , cash flow is excellent, the dividend is quite attractive and 3.5 covered. The South African business has potential. the pension is a worry but looks manageable esp with interest rates increasing and the age of the members is high so that's looks ok.as norcross has said previously. Can UK consumer spending hold up ? I don't know, but it can't just fall off a cliff . people need showers , shower blinds , people move , new builds are on the increase, things wear out, they need adhesives, tiles etc. They leverage their distribution with every complimentary brand purchased and have the ability to sell direct. Looks like a well run company to me,the directors have put their hands in their pockets for the Merlyn purchase. I'm in and looking for 220p+ within the next few years. R2 | robsy2
07/4/2020 09:09 | Me too. As the title suggests maybe it is time to take a shower in Norcross shares . I held these a while ago and did quite well. The share price is now at the same level it was in 2012.That just doesn't seem right. It has never been a highly rated share but has been well run and I've always felt it deserves a bit more recognition. It has some good products , is well run and has a lot of synergies as they add complementary products. I am betting they have enough cash to survive , will restart and move forwards. All will be revealed . If it restarts and really suffers , say loses 50% of profits in FY21, we might see the share price back to 2016 levels, price target 200p say. Or is it just going to go bust? I don't think so. | robsy2

06/4/2020 09:28 | I am more concerned about S.Africa business to be frank than the British one. I can see an end to the lockdown here but have no idea what the situation is like in S. Africa... | edmundshaw
03/4/2020 14:32 | With Norcos it is important to remember that 1/3rd of their revenue comes from South Africa. | loganair
03/4/2020 13:51 | I think it all depends on the duration of the lockdown and how it is eventually relaxed. It's an easier political decision to introduce stringent measures than the relax them, especially as while the rates might start to decrease, people will still be getting this virus for a while. I'm fearful, both from a national and global economic sense, but also from the perspective of mental health(!), of a protracted period of business closures, no movement or human F2F engagement, essential travel only, etc. So I agree with your views right now, but as Sphere said in 3014, the critical issue it the duration | spangle93
03/4/2020 11:51 | Agreed. It'll come good. | ebiz
03/4/2020 11:30 | Decent sign of confidence with the CEO'S wife buying a reasonable chunk there. Problem is it's easy to buy in that size at the moment because are there still too many large sellers in size. We saw a few big chunks go through on the 1st April into the market close at 129 and the stock barely batted an eyelid and instead moved lower. The illiquidity of this stock is likely playing a part as it will take longer to find buyers in size for the sellers who want out when it comes to this stock relative to others, let alone the fearful environment out there. Waiting game. | sphere25 |
