Yeriz, good chance you will be sat on your hands so long waiting for 20 before you buy back in you'll have pins and needles if today's bounce is anything to go by.

Good points well made, steeplejack.
No one can forecast share price movement with any accuracy on an hour by hour, day by day basis, but they can see how trends are set, how companies are positioned and what influences decisions made by hedge funds, shorters and the like have on the company's fortunes over a period of time. This particular time for NMC has seen an influx of ramping posts on ADVFN (mostly by non-entities or Bots) trying to influence private investors to buy when most of the markers and signs are to sell. I question that motive and would dearly like to know who is/are actually behind some of those meaningless and posturing posts.

The hint of a bad report from one shorting company sent NMC spiralling downwards, though the rumours appear unfounded, but there's no smoke without fire, and that is what is currently holding NMC back. No news is good news, but any vestige of weakness in a seemingly 'good' report tears the co to shreds.

I would also like to know how much influence these rampers (bot drivers) believe they have on a BB on ADVFN, to my mind extremely little judging by the number of posters on NMC. I dislike ramping, I abhor shorting but they are all part of investment life and anyone basing their research and investment choice on a BB deserves exactly what they get. Take everything with a large pinch of salt. GLA, but as of this morning, I'm out of NMC completely until sub £20 is reached.

Quite why this company wishes to persist with a stock exchange listing eludes me.My advice is go PRIVATE.

There’s been a fair amount of general tripe and ill feeling on this bulletin board but it’s pretty understandable.Anyone who believes they have a handle on where the shares are moving day to day or even hour to hour are conning themselves. When you have one broker in Jeffries countering strong buy recommendations from the likes of Goldmans it’s hardly surprising. In the wings you have hedge funds weaving their webs and shorting while algorithmic trading further exacerbates matters. Its this sort of thing that has encouraged companies to either shun a stock exchange listing or,increasingly, decide to embrace private capital and dump their listing fraught with expense and burdensome regulation.Listings both sides of the Atlantic have halved over the last 10 years and with good cause. The sort of price volatility being experienced by NMC is clearly harmful to the company’s development and damaging to management confidence. When you throw into this melee a general disaffection with and questioning of the very honesty of financial intermediaries ( ie selling stock, for example, while advising clients to buy) you have a toxic mix which can only accelerate the trend to avoid stock exchange listings altogether.Of course, you can have a go at trading the near inexplicable share price swings suffered by a variety of stocks but the excitement of such speculation is to avoid a realisation that for many companies a stock exchange listing is no longer fit for purpose.

Buy on rumour, sell on fact....unless MW are behind the rumour! If this does hit <£20 I will be buying more, but for the moment I'm sitting on my hands. GLA.

Difference between research and rumour and mischief making. Well aware about the rumour pre the Burford reveal, just mystified why anyone would consider it relevant again now? Results from NMC have been exceptional and CMD just reiterated those results. Those that lose out are those that follow rumours not facts!

Some depend on others to do their research for them, then wonder why they lose out. NMC was thought to be the target of MW's shorting exercise some weeks ago, there's still the vestiges of that reports hanging over NMC, hence the bot ramping and my expectation this will likely go sub £20.

After a quick review, it seems I was wrong to filter out Jredd as a ramping bot. He is just an ordinary ramper.

Your expectations of '30' failed to materialise this week, indeed we're closer to '20'. My expectrations is that Muddy Waters are still active and about to launch another bear raid and the price will plummet. Hope I'm wrong (oftem am) but the signs are there.

Agreed with Aquaesulis01, it will gradually go up in coming weeks when the few shorters finished shorting and either a big institution decide to get in given the fundamentals an le clarity provided, or any news that will be a catalyst and force the shorts to cover. Buyback approvals request was initiated so I think it’s a matter of few weeks max.
Also I just read the GS and MS comments post CMD and they welcomed CMD and reiterated their views. I am comfortable and holding on and thinking to add some more monday.

One of three things will happen over the next few weeks if the share price continues to be shorted; II's who like what they have seen at the CMD will start to buy in, the Company will initiate approvals for a share buy-back or Foson/other suitor will put in a cheeky bid. Any one action will send the share price north, just need a little patience.

At current levels it’s a hidden gem with great upside value to the investor. One of the analysts has stated that the stock rises 5 times the current evaluation. I'd say, this is a good time to buy.
