Indeed augustusgloop - forensic accountants will be working on this mess for years to come - and super expensive teams of legal experts for even longer.
Chances of successful prosecution and recovery of meaningful assets - somewhere between marginal and nil imco - and anything that is recovered will be swallowed up by costs and statutory / secured creditors.
We have seen it time and time again.

I would suggest that people with $5+ billion at their disposal would be able to situate themselves somewhere that they can't be extradited from.

Thus, they will never be properly tried.

Also, the evidence will be corrupted - that inside NMC will have been destroyed.

The money will not be recovered.
It was probably put into an account of a shell company registered in a secretive tax haven.
Then the money would be transferred into other shell companies - also in secretive jurisdictions.

Then transferred into other companies - with 'owners' that were paid to set up the companies in their names (but knew nothing from then on).

Then the money is used to buy gold bullion from mafia run traders.
This gold bullion then sold to other rogue operations and the funds deposited into new shell companies.


The people that execute such massive frauds know what they are doing and will have the best people making sure that the money can't be traced.

It will not be sitting in a London branch of the TSB waiting for a court to freeze it.

May be later not now, when court hearing completed and these people sentenced. They can make it a bit more general on how Ftse 100 company with top 4 accountancy auditors, FCA and UAE weak financial governance contributed/ allowed fraud of this magnitude to go on noticed.

If NMC was largely based in the UK then maybe Panorama might be marginally interested if lots of UK individuals had suffered. But this is more of a UAE issue, so access too revealing information would be more difficult to obtain.
It’s not a COVID-19 drama, so I can’t see it having much public interest.......IMHO

Silverstone 1. I was having a look at this and there is no stock borrow available on the unsponsered ADR's trading on the Pink sheets in the US. Can you tell us who creates a CFD on these ADR's, which broker and on which exchange did you bet the farm with ? Thanks for any info
