I have been told by the SB company that I will lose 11.5k as opposed to 28k due to being protected under ESMA rules. That's some consolation I suppose. Just peed off that I deposited a further 2k this morning before the suspension was announced which I have simply thrown away. I deposited it to try to cover the margin and that is a kick on the teeth as I would have only lost 9.5k instead! Does anyone know if I can reclaim some of this 11.5k or not? What are my options? The margin has immediately gone up to -22,000 and it will not let me withdraw any cash. Thanks.

Sounds good SR - for a change lol Ive poured a large whisky and just about to watch Death in Paradise as opposed to death in NMC. Tomorrow is another day. As far as Metro is concerned there might be some cash to be made day trading but in the absence of a to I'm in no doubt that it doesn't have a future and most shorts will either hang on to the bitter end or some refinancing exercise whichever comes first.

Given Dow down 1000 probably good to be suspended while they sort the situation out. Some big institutions have put a lot of money in to the over the past couple weeks. I am sure they would have had sources for info that we are not privy to.

Asus, In the grand world of entrepreneurs and business £50k is a lot less than many of the people we see on the telly have lost in the past ab=nd then bounced back. It might seem like a lot of money to you just now but if you have nowt , it becomes the problem for the SB company. If fact under then current rules I believe theynshouldm have closed your positions before you went negative. Tell them you cant pay and they will eventually write it off. Within a year or so , you can start again. Don't be hard on yourself and look after yourself as your daughter needs you. Stay strong and it is not your problem alone.

I am up at the moment. Mat and Dragon, or anyone else, I hope your right, but if they are 9 now, how could they open back up at 9, if no one can buy any shares ??? Now that there is a crash, anyone got any ideas to buy into now as they are so low ??? I thought about Topps ??? I live close to Cardiff UK, and the houses they are building all around my area, 100,000's, and they just in small population Wales. hxxps://www.cityam.com/topps-tiles-issues-half-year-profit-warning-on-brexit-uncertainty/ Wayne

I trade for a living but don't know how you guys do it with spreadsheet accounts and margin. I stick to valilla stock trading with any purchases covered by cash balances and that can be stressful enough. Anyways, best of luck folks.

Esma rules protect you from negative balance. You cannot loose more than you put in basically For the record I am long £200 per point which is now locked in . Was £25k in profit yesterday at close
