02/11/2017 07:35 | After 40M + shares traded yesterday (40x a normal days trading)- large proportion of buys, I'm pretty sure the MM's will not be holding any Hawk shares this morning.Yesterday's News will take a few days to sink in....ie it probably means Hawk is following a plan, & can & has the nuts to & the overall support to survive.Lots of scope here..'Could get very interesting. | rockin robin

01/11/2017 14:45 | marmar80, True. I would not rule out some other small finds. However, I doubt anything significant belies the 'unscanned' acres. From almost a decade of looking at their portfolio and work, its clear the smoky-hill and JR area has pockets of small conventional pools (some good like AC and B-S) and lots of shale potential. I doubt that will change for the unscanned acres in any big way. The financial troubles have left the capital structure in ruin if you're a PI. They have little ammo to go after the small conventional pools and even less for the abundant shales deep within the acreage (which may just come into play if oil price keeps above $60/bbl). Offloading some of it to others is a prudent move. Cash | cashandcard
01/11/2017 14:33 | 1p tomorrow???? | miahkaysor
01/11/2017 11:12 | Cash, not all acreage has been scanned. | marmar80
01/11/2017 11:02 | I have used this opportunity to get rid at a fairly significant loss, but a much smaller loss than it was yesterday. | broncowarrior
01/11/2017 10:21 | It's one test well - to be drilled within the next year. Why Monarch ... is this protected from the Administrator due to the legal connection with Cascade ? | mallorca 9
01/11/2017 10:08 | Go farward instead of living in the past, if the oil is there let others with more skill find it as our experts have failed and perhaps maybe the Hill is not as steep as yesterday.......... The sun has just peeked out........ | maxwell
01/11/2017 09:52 | You can only assume a deal is in place considering today's RNS refers to activity beyond 31st December 2017. The share price has a long way to go in order to return to where it was before failure was priced in. | lev61
01/11/2017 09:41 | and how do Hawk repay the $21m end Dec ?? | mallorca 9
01/11/2017 09:33 | This seems a logical move forward - Monarch acreage has not proved productive thus far - 3 dusters - this is a way of offlaying further risk and still get a bit of income out of it at no expense - we have a huge area of our own where we can do this or similar in selected areas - this is a move towards managing the acreage rather than just assuming that we will drill everything themselves - a huge opportunity comes into view now as potential farmees may not be as reluctant to use "horizontal" drilling as we have been to date - if we are to go down this route seriously the opportunities could be vast as we are multi-layered. | ranald
01/11/2017 09:32 | It's a confusing deal to me and doesn't detract from the fact that they owe CBA $21m. Could they be ring fencing Monarch in some way to protect it from the Administrator ? | mallorca 9
01/11/2017 09:28 | m9, Its not the best deal for hawk (because of all the outs in the agreement) but also not the worst deal as it indicates some entities still see value and are willing to commit capital to the area. Monarch area agreement is over 23,619acres and hawk have gross 50% of that (cascade the balance). So assigning an interest over just 1,920acres, even with the valuable Monarch well, is not the worst that can happen to Hawk. It would be more worrying if the waterflood failed to show signs of stabilising oil production. The value outed by new drilling could be worth far more, especially over the rest of the acreage, than losing a small part of their interest in Monarch area covering 1,920acres. 01/11/2017 09:11 | Heading for the biggest daily volume this year or maybe ever! | marmar80 |
