I to wondered why the price went up after div payment. Maybe it's just people taking a look at the stock again, who know's, if I had answers to like questions I wouldn't be nursing looses on every other share I own!...not that I'm bitter!

Just bought some more, believing that the familly shareholding will underpin the divi for the future and that the review of operations should shake up the underperforming divisions.
Any other optimists out there?

I take your point, i did think there may be limited downside but equally the upside potential isnt there.I'll wait and see what the results bring.

Dont like the look of this article from AFX news 2 this morning
Times
- Rumour of the day: NICHOLS (talk
that next week's full-year figures could contain further disappointment; company
gave warning on profits in December, and dealers hear that trading conditions
since then have remained weak)

Bought in last year on strength of the dividend.
Family shareholding should ensure divi remains well protected, so would expect shareprice to rise to reflect this, particularly as people review PEP/ISA portfolios around end March/early April?
Market could do with some confident messages on the food distribution business as well as overseas growth in good old Vimto.
Finals due around 21st March according to FT lists, so not long to go.
Could we see a move to AIM to reduce LSE costs, as with James Halstead?

and thankfully not one for the day traders! also am I right in assuming quite a bit of family control so not too open to volatility from those dear fund managers?

thanks for the info

This company looks quite sound - any views out there? I'm thinking of buying some for my daughters pension fund (at only 3.5yrs she should be able to take care of me when I've gone ga ga!)

Shamsu

I was looking at this in the week for my ISA - the yield is good as you mention - about 7%. I'd agreee with stustu - interesting if they get back to a quid again and bounce. Only problem is long term downtrend - below 100 and I would want to be out sharpish.

there is a good yield coming at end of August that you may want to bear in mind if you are thinking of buying.

Anyone got any views on this stock? Why is it heading down one step a day for the last two months? Any idea?

Thanks.
