I can’t figure out if I should top up more or run for the hills lol. It just seems barmy when this big shift is going to start even more this year for the solar/ wind power etc it just don’t figure, SSE come of big style as well and they are switching big style, just get that horrible feeling that the big boys are playing games at the moment.

I know... I hold a number in this sector and they have all been drifting downwards since the autumn. Which with the strength of Oil is hard to fathom out why.

Gate side I know it’s ex day but the whole sector seems under the cosh and with oil gas going up the power prices must follow surely .

Topped up position in GRP and NESF. VT Gravis Clean Energy Income Fund is buying/selling these two yieldcos. They're currently trading with dividend yields of 5.3% and 6.8% respectively, according to Friday's closing price. A few of my thoughts here... hxxps://riverotter.co.uk/2020/09/18/topping-up-portfolio-of-renewable-energy-yieldcos/

With UK having had the sunniest May ever this fund's assets must have presumably generated a lot of electricity over the last month or so.

TA. Given oil price contraction on present virus problem and Chinese contraction there may be a germ of truth in comment.

Broker note from JP Morgan saying there will be an oversupply of electricity in future. Hit whole sector, but prices are recovering from such a nonsensical broker note.

Found my way ere as a resullt of MW comments abut “safe-ish̶1; investments. What happened to cause the sharp drop from 125 to 117?

Hi guys, I am after some info. Is it the case that you can no longer get planning permission for onshore wind turbines in Scotland. Cheers.

It's in the DCG RNSs, as well as on the FTSE site itself.

NESF looks like a possible FTSE250 promotion candidate, to replace DCG next week.

interestingly quiet here on this board. Everyone must be happy then? Today they launched a new approach to financing their debt by issuing preference shares with a coupon of 4.75% - rather less than the dividend and rather more than they are able to borrow money at - BUT they hope that over the medium term it will be cheaper than debt and of course will be cheaper than equity as the dividends gradually rise by RPI. see https://www.investegate.co.uk/nextenergy-solfnd-ld/nesf/issue-of-preference-shares/201810160700081150E/?fe=1&utm_source=FE%20Investegate%20Alerts&utm_medium=Email&utm_content=Announcement%20Alert%20Mail&utm_campaign=NextEnergy%20SolFnd%20Ld%20Alert Seems to me to be a clever move - they are all to go to one investor so don't suppose they will be listed. Will this set a precedent for others to follow?

From 31 Jan: The Facility provides long-term debt financing, with a maturity in 2035 that matches the regulated life of the portfolio, and comprises a mix of fixed rate and inflation-linked debt products with a blended cost of 3.32%. This debt structure maximises the portfolio's cash flow generation whilst eliminating refinancing and interest rate risks. http://www.investegate.co.uk/nextenergy-solfnd-ld--nesf-/rns/new-long-term-debt-facility/201701310700075035V/

"Nextenergy Solar Fund came to the market in April 2014 and, as the name suggests, invests in solar power plants, recycling the income from these in the form of dividends. The fund has raised £465m since the float, most recently another £115m in November. The long-term trend in energy prices, upwards, is in its favour. The fund pays a quarterly dividend and has just confirmed that the total for the year to March 31 will hit its target of 6.31p. On that basis the yield is an assured and attractive 5.8%." http://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/business/mixed-bag-has-good-bad-and-the-ugly-sjzzj07c2
