Not sure I agree with the proposed sale and lease backs. They will not get fair value in this property market. Better to wait unless they are factoring in a depression.

spob, it's still a recession. The growth hit may last a lot longer than any lockdown. Anyways it's on a watchlist. Luck to anyone holding.

couple of years nah not at all i estimate the peak in UK chinese flu new cases will happen about 4-5 weeks from now I expect stores to be allowed to open soon after that with restrictions such as social distancing and maybe face masks for all customers and staff initially this is not a cruise line operator customers will quickly be back when stores are open again online should be open right now supermarkets are still operating ffs

The share price of most companies is irrelevant at the moment they are being tossed around like a rag doll in a dogs mouth the share price just reflects the ebb and flow of irrational fear in the markets the kind of fear people feel when they start thinking that a temporary new situation is going to last forever no point trying to evaluate the share price right now need to try and judge when fear has reached its peak I have no position in Next at the moment

Spob, the main issue with masks is they usually need to be changed frequently. My other half, who works in healthcare, wears a disposable mask on any short shopping trip.

Does the current share price factor in the temporary closure of the business?.

masks do work, but only if "everyone" wears them greatly reduces the transmission of this highly contagious airborn virus that's why this virus has been largely contained in China because everyone wears a mask in China in public In fact I think they have made it illegal not to wear one in some parts of China right now

stupid decision to stop online orders imho many companies continue to operate online all you have to do is issue all your staff with proper masks and goggles and make it compulsary for EVERYONE to wear them at all times any staff refusing to wear them would be dismissed on the spot (gross misconduct) it's not rocket science

Big round of applause for Next. Safety of their employees ahead of profits. I hope when it reopens their warehouses they catch up lost sales and the warehouse workers get plenty of overtime payments.
