04/9/2017 15:31 | A nice kick in the *ollocks for the long time shorters (and there are quite a few of them!) who were probably not expecting this today. LOL. Give them another similar kicking tomorrow lads and lasses :-) | tlobs2
16/8/2017 10:07 | Joules are selling on QVC, fyi. | alex1621
16/8/2017 09:56 | yes i wonder if next will have a next tv channel like qvc lol. | ccraig69
16/8/2017 05:09 | I read a few snippets on Citywire. The note was written by a lady who began working at Berenberg in 2013. Zero retail experience and little understanding of retail history. She described Next's predicament as a "Kodak" moment ... the Kodak company failed to adapt to the era of digital photography. Given that 57% of Next's operating profit is from online directory that analogy is misconstrued and looks suspiciously like a tabloid scare story. City analysts have a murky reputation, best ignored. | alex1621
15/8/2017 13:50 | There is no "new news" ... given that short-leases provide Next with the opportunity to manage down their store estate, I'm not convinced by the Berenberg argument. Online will grow in market share but will slow eventually, as the online and bricks and mortar balance reaches equilibrium. The retailer of the future will be bricks and clicks, as their is a "leisure and entertainment" aspect to ladies fashion and "a touch and feel" aspect homeware and furnishings purchases. Next is known for under promising and over delivering, so the recent management buys are significant. Medium to long-term I think Next is well positioned. IMHO. | alex1621
15/8/2017 12:41 | I've just seen a precis of Berenberg's report. There's nothing new in there that hasn't been leveled already at Next, apart from a slight re-hash of the age-old argument about them having too many stores and them being dinosaur-esque. The fact is hardly any (if any) of these stores are loss making and none have onerous lease terms. And lest we forget Next is still forecasting to make 6x more profit than ASOS and BooHoo combined. Dinosaur it is not. | funkmasterp12
15/8/2017 12:31 | Ignore me. Being my obnoxious self. I will take a look at that report. Thxs. | minerve
15/8/2017 12:28 | Minerve That is how I felt as well but read their report and some of it makes sense! | hjs
15/8/2017 12:10 | Yes Berenberg sell rating. Target price 3650p. They are pretty good in their TP. Today's drop is because of that and IMHO, it will drop further to 4000p in no time! | hjs
15/8/2017 08:51 | Berenberg "sell" rating? | alex1621
15/8/2017 08:37 | What's with the fall today? | utyinv
07/8/2017 15:17 | I've bought some here today on the back of that 2nd Director notification. Let's hope it can re-test the mega highs! | funkmasterp12

04/8/2017 13:38 | Can you still get the voucher if you buy now? | ny boy
03/8/2017 21:06 | UtyINV From Next website: "Shareholder discount The shareholder discount voucher, in the name of the first named, registered shareholder, gives a 25% discount against most purchases at any one time on full price NEXT merchandise in our retail stores. There is no limit on the value of goods that can be purchased at that time. The voucher expires on 31 October of the year in which it was issued. It cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount voucher or offer, nor can it be used to purchase gift cards, Sale merchandise, electrical goods, non-NEXT branded goods or purchases from NEXT Directory (unless ordered through one of our retail stores). Discount vouchers will be sent to the registered address of shareholders during April if they hold 100 shares or more on 1 April of that year. Shareholders holding shares in nominee or ISA accounts are also eligible, but must request the voucher through their nominee or ISA account manager. The account manager must email or write to The Company Secretary's Department, confirming the shareholder's name, address and the number of shares held on 1 April of that year." I hold mine with Hargreaves Lansdown and I got my voucher with a cover letter from them (HL) even though I am nominee as it says above. I cannot remember asking HL and with them therefore it is automatic otherwise give them or your broker a call. | minerve
03/8/2017 20:50 | Minerva, How do you get the discount? | utyinv
03/8/2017 12:44 | Just noticed, I received my juicy final and special divi on Tuesday Thanks Lord Wolfie :) | spob
03/8/2017 11:54 | Great share, NEXT. Lovely cash generation and a buy-back policy that is clearly explained and works. Definitely one to sit in your portfolio churning away. If you hold 100 shares or more, you also get a 25% discount voucher at Next. Not all clothing, refitting out my daughter's bedroom with Next furniture on a 25% discount - very handy! | minerve
03/8/2017 10:42 | I don't think they will blink if they sold above 50 (which they all did) | toffeeman |
