NewRiver Retail swallows 200 pubs to turn into convenience stores
By Jamie Nimmo

Retail property group NewRiver Retail (LON:NRR) has bought 202 pubs from Marston's for £90mln, which it plans to convert into convenience stores and restaurants.
The company says it has already received strong interest from national supermarket chains and convenience store operators for the retail space.
Marston's will continue to run the pubs until it decides to sell or until NewRiver finds a buyer.

Here is the final analysis and top ten btw...
It is amazing however that a small cap like NRR features in so many top holdings across a hundred investors. If any of you have not done your entry then do please add it here..

It has moved a fair bit over the last three days so maybe just an overhang cleared. Out of interest for those of you with NRR in their to ten you may want to join in completing this ...

They are in joint 11th position at present.

NewRiver Retail funding shows growing City interest in REITs

"The recent fundraising by NewRiver Retail underlines the growing City interest in this real estate investment trust (REIT). The group hoped to bank around £40mln to finance some ambitious expansion plans. In the end it walked away with £67mln and could have taken a lot more than that..." READ FULL ARTICLE HERE:

Thanks for your helpa lter ego. I have other REITs but they are in SIPPS. I don't think a deduction was made on them. Will probably contact Selftrade just to confirm and when.

This happened to me on another REIT I hold and although I cannot remember the details, I know that Selftrade do reclaim the tax in due course. It took about six weeks and should be automatic.

I've just received the 10p dividend but a 20% tax deduction has been applied.I hold the shares in an ISA with Selftrade. Does anyone know if this is correct and if so is the tax recoverable.. Also would the same treatment occur if the shares were held in a Sipp. Thanks in advance for any help.

The market likes the acquisition.
The chart looks good and the dividend which is being paid next week likely to be re invested by many chances are this run up will have further to go.

A much cheaper version of this stock is LSR,sitting at less than 50% of NAV(NAV conservatively calculated on the basis of an underlying 9.5% yield). It is about to put itself into liquidation.

These guys know what they are doing for sure. They probably had serious plans for all the cash they raised so lets see how it gets deployed.
