Maybe.

Capitulation selling led by gobal economic turndown and worries of chinese demand (or lack therof). Meanwhile NWR appear to be making positive progress from an operational perspective.

I've deleted the outdated header text which had been there since 2008, and replaced the 2 year chart with one running from that start date.

Had a good look at this and was going to take a punt but the spead put me off!
A 7% divi and 5% spread is not attractive for dividend trading.

It's a very good recovery play on the coal sector with a not inconsiderable divi to boot......imo I don't think you can go far wrong here.

Any ideas why this was so weak today? Other minors have posted very decent gains today, this one was red for most of the day? Is someone offloading a stake?

Still feel this is good place to be at these prices with Europe looking more solid and a big spend in China. Won't be making the same sort of money as in years gone, but still a good return with worst expected in current share price

Climbs On Surprise Profit

NEW WORLD RESOURCES CLIMBS IN LONDON ON SURPRISE PROFIT

New World Resources NV (NWR), the largest producer of coking coal for steelmakers in the Czech Republic, rose in London after a surprise first-quarter profit on currency gains and cost cuts.

Net income increased to 6.2 million euros ($7.9 million) from 3.4 million euros a year earlier, the Amsterdam-registered company said in a statement today. The median estimate in a Bloomberg survey of 10 analysts was for a 4.3 million-euro loss.

NWR boosted sales from its more profitable coking-coal operations to 56 percent and reiterated it expects them to make up 48 percent of production this year. The company also produces thermal coal for power stations.

"We do see continued strong demand for coking coal," Chief Financial Officer Marek Jelinek said in an interview. "The automotive industry, which is very important for us, continues to grow rapidly in the region," spurring steel use.

While prices of coking coal negotiated for the current quarter declined by 8 percent from the prior three months, Jelinek said global demand may push rates higher again.

NWR was 1.6 percent higher at 336.8 pence as of 1:49 p.m. in London after earlier rising by as much as 5.7 percent.

P.S.

Here's a couple of links about SCLP, one of the hottest stocks at the moment:

There are no MM with this, it's traded in SETS.

I'll take FXPO at a £1.
I did buy today under £3, but you might be right on £2 with debt and major slowdown in Europe. NWR only really makes serious money when coke prices are high (high cost of production). To keep coke prices high globally you need solid Chinese demand and/or production problems elsewhere. China looks less solid now than in the last 10years and plenty of new supply coming.

On the plus, all sales and divs in Euro which the pound is strengthening against.

Volume isn't big, suspect the MMs are cashing in on the general fear that's out there.

With 2 deaths in a matter of days, surely an investigation will be coming, hence my 2.

I await this and FXPO at 20p (wish).

£3 and I am in. I made a small fortune out of these during the last crash. Don't think we will see quite the same again and they can certainly potential go to £2, but a good company with a solid div., better news in Europe over the next 1-3years will see these back at £6.
