Thorpematt - think your analysis is spot on - so I'm in today as we to start to pull out of the consolidation phase. Expecting a run up to results - and PO price looks to be stengthening. AEP loking very strong too.

Its nice and quiet on this thread at present - just the right time to get in?? All IMHO DYOR.

A "corporate changing" event this one IMO.

Sustainable sources of palm oil is something we should all be asking for. NBPO is at the forefront of this and should be congratulated for being so.

A sound investment for sure.

Sustainable and traceable palmoil: A small step for mankind, a giant leap for NBPO.

Well, you've got long term support circa 450ish, and resistance at 600.

At these prices, watch your brokers platform. For example, how many shares can you trade online at these prices? If NMS is £20k at 450, and mm's are only letting you have £2k it's defo good support. MM's will only let you buy small quants if they think it's a bargain.

And vice versa.

All good news.
Palm oil price tends to be something of a barometer for world economy - Strange really, people gotta eat regardless. Any slump in indexes could effect the stock price BUT this ones got a way to go I reckon - so I'll be topping up on any big dips.

I feel the sustainability and environmentals make this a VERY good investment.

From today's FT market report:

New Britain Palm Oil added 3.1 per cent to 497½p after agreeing to new plantations in Papua New Guinea for $175m.

"We forecast this will enhance earnings by 6 per cent in 2010 and 15 per cent in 2011 with material upside thereafter as the productivity of the plantations improve and costs are reduced," said KBC Peel Hunt, the broker.

I'm here too. I have to say that I don't understand the business or the prospects as well as I should, but am holding since the 390s, so certainly enjoying the recent rise.

OK Children, I trust you have all done (watched) your homework.

But what did we learn. Essays are due in by the end of the week...

Research: TV Show for you to watch:-

For the record (and in answer to my question), I do view NBPO as "one of the good guys" i.e. sustainable and therfore I believe that the more publicity we get on the environmentals the better.

stnick (ref574) No I am not holding. Although funds permitting I would have bought at the point of my preevious post. I see the recent price rise as a breakoput of sorts. PLUS more importantly I like the potential here and believe the direction of the business model is perfect, I see it somewhat as "re-modelled". The future market too I rate as very positive.

Those that are holding: I am envious - DO NOT SELL

LouisR2(ref 576): Your article is of interest, the environmentals are important. I am intrigued as to your stance - Do you view NBPO as one of the good guys?

I hold, at an average of around 390p. Noticed a few buyers coming in at 455/456 over the last few days so just topped up with a small spread bet too.

Guys, if you're interested in palm oil and are willing to invest for 2-3 years, take a look at BIP and do the NBPO-style maths on that company... you heard it here first! I am a BIP holder by the way, so DYOR! No advice intended etc etc
