Only thing I can find that affects NETW is protests in Africa where they are expanding.

It is getting killed, another new low. More suspect price movement.

Surely it is time for management to come out with the good ole "We know of no reason for the share price movement" rns, then confirm recent trading update, and try and reassure that everything is fine.

Market usually pops abit on those, but it will be interesting to see if the market holds those gains and actually trusts the insiders here.

Getting pumped over the net this weekend, small rise with more big falls to follow as desperate sellers exit !

I can now admit to adding the 4th tranche yesterday at 240p - too impatient by a day (if indeed this morning was the bottom).
Listened to Haslam's interview - thanks BG - JMO but thought he sounded very sensible and level-headed.

NETW is a payments business, as is Mastercard & Visa, issue is are txn volumes holding up sufficiently to support NETWs leverage position, which, i think, is the main issue they have. As in UK and rest of world, covid is driving cashless transactions so i would expect to see growth, even if some areas (Tourism) are hard hit. Its an area that some see as ripe for consolidation.

Yes tradertrev, sometimes a very bearish chart can be the best time to buy too. However, it can be a very fine line in a resilient market like this (the US, the 250, Small Cap and AIM all recovered strong and not looking like even threatening a big plunge down), particularly in light of all the uncertainty out there.

You'd think the majority of companies not materially affected by the crisis would have already re-rated higher in such a market and there would not be (based on current circumstances i.e. no vaccine, stimulus, seventeen squillion more of QE) many genuine bargains with prices at lows or continuing to makes lows like this one. Clearly it's different when you're in a bear market and have those big sell downs.

Companies like NETW are usually too complex to really get to the bottom of. Short term traders like me don't have the time to sit there day after day trying to analyse one company, we clearly work a different way to longer term folk who could spends weeks analysing each company.

Still, those folk, the analysts and the whole bullish participants have been spectacularly wrong and not see what has been hiding underneath. Clearly you shouldn't tarnish a company with others, but I have been watching this one for a while now and the way the price moves is suspect imo.

That doesn't say alot, but charts and price movements are indicative of the markets view on a company. Often the best thing someone can do is consider all charts that are moving bottom left to top right and filter the rest.

The way this moves is indicative of a very unsure market, one which is constantly asking itself if the company does provide value or whether there is something more sinister underneath. It leads to erratic moves, even on calm days like today. Nutty 17% move down earlier, with a recovery bounce now, but it's all over the shop and does it so often.

Naturally, we have all seen even the best of companies have big moves and volatility, but it's incredibly rare outside of mass market panic days where all hell breaks loose and algos pull bids and offer and liquidity and margin calls exacerbate the whole thing.

I'd keep an eye on how the shorts move here too. They're increasing and the number of shorters is building, which isn't a good sign on this one specifically imo. Shorts can be wrong of course, but if you can compare price movements of a share to the body language of a person, the movements here are suspect.

All imo

Market closing UPDATE:

Absolutely bonkers moves today, down, up, down, up up up, down, up, down down down...currently in auction with the price off 19%. After seeing today's actions, you might see what I mean above.

You get less suspect moves in Boris Johnson's Covid-19 policies!

Agree chart looks bearish, but then again charts can look bearish until they look bullish :-)
What is strange about this is that there is no commentary on BBs that I can see, which you would normally expect to see if people were "having a go".

There were a couple of buys listed at 11.15 for 1.3m shares at about 300p (share price at the time was about 265p) so maybe price was shifted down by market makers to scoop up shares to fulfill the order. Price seems to be recovering quite quickly now.

Very volatile this, clearly good for traders!

Looks a wrong un though. The price movements alone tell you something isn't right here imo. I understand liquidity and shorts at work, but even beyond that, the erratic nature of the moves and that chart clearly aren't bullish. Furthemore, shorts are increasing even at these very low levels with four over the disclosable threshold now with a position of 4.5%.

No position here, but always take an interest in the suspect looking ones. You don't learn as much from the good uns I tells thee!

Surely not another of those bombshell ones?

Entirely reasonable position to take BG. But in my view, despite a definite knock to 2020 results (unlike e.g. Paypal), for the medium term this looks like the cheapest and one of the faster growing digital payments shares you can buy. All depends on how much we look through the 2020 setback, which for most shares the market appears to be doing.
If you can buy you shares back at 250p I can easily buy some more!

Hope so too. I'm out again now as I've only been trading and don't have a sound understanding of how (if at all) covid reactions have effected their trade so think for me personally banking the profits makes sense.

Whoever is writing a short-attack dossier had better publish it soon - these shares have fallen so far it might not frighten out enough sellers for the shorters to close!
I am small long in the 270s, by the way.
