Hi all,

Anyone have a view with how block chain could effect NCC going forward? I'm thinking the escrow business here. With everything going decentralised i wonder what the ramifications could be....

From the NCC Group website today:

Government celebrates cyber security successes in Manchester

On Wednesday, the First Secretary of State and Minister for the Cabinet Office, Damian Green, spoke at the landmark opening of the new global headquarters of NCC Group in Manchester, marking the first anniversary of the creation of the National Cyber Security Strategy (NCSS).

The NCSS was launched a year ago in response to the growing cyber security challenges and threats faced by the UK and to define the Government’s ambitions for the future.

As a part of this world-leading strategy the Government invested £1.9 billion in establishing the innovative National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), demonstrating a long-term commitment to keeping the UK safe. Since its launch the NCSC has responded to over 590 significant cyber incidents, providing support to victims, sharing information with intelligence and law enforcement, and setting up incident management structures to ensure essential services are up and running once incidents have occurred.

The First Secretary was speaking at the headquarters of NCC Group - a global expert in cyber security and risk mitigation. From its newly built headquarters in Manchester, NCC Group employs more than 500 staff providing Britain’s and Europe’s largest companies with cyber security consultancy and cyber incident response.

Damian Green, First Secretary of State and Minister for the Cabinet Office, said: “This Government is committed to tackling the growing threat of cyber security and will continue to invest in the future of our defence programme.

“The Government’s Cyber Schools programme aims to provide skills to nearly 6,000 young people in order to secure the UK’s position as a world leader in cyber security for generations to come.

“I am delighted that global cyber security expert, NCC Group, has chosen to open their headquarters in Manchester - fuelling the success of the Northern Powerhouse.”

Brian Tenner, Interim CEO at NCC Group, said: “NCC Group continues to play a pivotal role in advising government and helping to implement national initiatives which are strengthening the UK’s cyber security posture and helping to improve the country's technical capabilities in this area. The First Secretary’s visit is recognition of this continuing support and we were delighted to welcome him to our company headquarters today.

“The threat of cyber crime is an ever-evolving issue that is increasing in severity every day. It is encouraging that the UK Government is treating this as a priority and putting concrete strategies in place to address this. We will continue to offer our assistance and work closely with the UK Government on these new initiatives in order to improve the UK’s ability to defend against modern cyber threats.”

Notes to editors

The UK’s world-leading National Cyber Security Strategy 2016-2021 is supported by a £1.9 billion of transformational investment. It sets out how the UK Government will deliver a UK that is secure and resilient to cyber threats, and prosperous and confident in the digital world.

The National Cyber Security Programme managed by the Cabinet Office coordinates the work undertaken to implement the UK's National Cyber Security Strategy. The strategy is built around three pillars supported by international partnerships:
•Defend our people, businesses, and assets
•Deter our adversaries
•Develop our capabilities and structures

We are investing in:
•A programme of active cyber defence
•A dedicated ability to counter-attack in cyber space
•An ambitious skills programme
•Growing the cyber sector

The news yesterday about a major weakness being found in all wi fi implementations will result in a spike of work for companies like NCC. Expect to see all the major companies in cyber launching some campaigns around it.

Richjp I suspect the divi was in your income area a while back, but when you set up to reinvest it's not that easy to see. On 12th of the following month they show the cash in your transactions area ready to fulfil your order. That happens on the 12th or soon after.

The dividend was paid 2 weeks ago. Not sure why there was delay in your particular situation. NCC is in the hottest industry in town. So now that the discredited management has been replaced with a credible team it is simply re-establishing its lost ground.

I was notified today by HL that my divi has come through. I have my accounts set up so that any divis are automatically reinvested. I was just thinking that if lots of others do that including the institutions, that will have generated a bit of buying activity today.

Well, looking at the current value of my holding compared to when I was having the 90p nightmares with other holders makes for pleasant viewing. I did add in the bad days so that's now paying off nicely. At least the steady, but solid, rises seem to stick, but any good news should really make it shift. Hard not to feel there should be some really good business volumes to report next time.

Lovely stuff. I can't see any more recent news flow than as per my last post, so this looks like solid institutional buying driving the price up.

The share price is in an encouraging upward trend channel with current limits of about 210 to 245p.
While it stays in this channel it cannot really be said to break out. However, a continuation will do us very well and points towards 300p by next spring (April-May) if maintained.
