24/3/2020 08:36 | Covid-19 related shares: (click above tickers for links:) | bountyhunter
24/3/2020 08:36 | Hi Uty, I have both of those as well (and quite a few NG still). Agreed timing is everything but this situation looks to be with us for at least a year globally until a vaccine can be rolled out. I'll post my list of Covid-19 related shares here but as you say higher risk than sticking with NG but potentially some could rocket especially SNG if their treatment is successful in the current expedited Phase IIb trial. What I always say though is spread the risk across sectors as well as individual shares and that still applies imo, and hold cash as well of course! I don't think I need to say any of that to you personally though as I'm quite sure you will already have spread risk generally like I do. | bountyhunter
23/3/2020 18:59 | Bounty, Covid-19 related stocks..... A lot of eng co’s who offered to build Ventilators is commendable but what of the business when the virus is beaten and there are adequate supplies? Same goes for some pharmas working to get a vaccine. Eventually we will have one but I will be surprised if they will be allowed a patent on the stuff; interests of world etc etc, Then they go back to the competitive work of producing drugs in a laboriously long discovery-to-issue process, involving Stage 1, 2 and 3 trials that drain cash from medium sized companies. The big boys like AZN and GSK will still be there but of what value? | utyinv
23/3/2020 16:44 | Uty, not a great day across the board again unfortunately, can stop buying most products apart from food, electricity, gas and water! That's my thinking plus have also switched some investment to Covid-19 related stocks involved in testing, research and online teaching. | bountyhunter
23/3/2020 15:18 | Whoa..way down | badtime
22/3/2020 18:47 | Bounty, Longer term this company and its share price will be fine imo. I totally agree, as I hold for the divi, not fussed about it falling, just gives the opportunity to buy more👍 | utyinv
21/3/2020 15:49 | NGG down 6% on Friday in NY (and only some of that after the UK close), pretty much in line with the wider US market decline so not collapsed with ~4% decline after 16:30 GMT, that being equivalent to about 36p lower post UK close over here. I'm happy to hold this as we all need plenty of electricity while stuck at home and the yield is fantastic vs interest rates. The increase in domestic electricity use vs the decline in office and retail outlet use over the next few months is something I would like more info on although whether that will affect transmission revenues I don't know. Longer term this company and its share price will be fine imo. | bountyhunter
21/3/2020 14:45 | NG. Collapsed in the US on Fri equivalent to 41p /share I can see a dire opening on Monday | utyinv
20/3/2020 13:09 | Yes a bit odd given the NG yield vs BOE base rate cut to 0.1% in the light of the universal requirement for Electricity. Probably rise later after the US market opens. | bountyhunter
20/3/2020 10:27 | Am I missing something here today? | skinny
17/3/2020 16:54 | Common sense. It’s solid and reliable | gutterhead
17/3/2020 16:35 | Up 10% today. Anything behind that? | hsduk101
17/3/2020 08:23 | This drop has been quite indiscriminate but, Compared to a lot of others, they have held up reasonably well | gutterhead
17/3/2020 08:09 | You would have thought that U.K. utilities would have held up in these conditions. | atlantic57
10/3/2020 21:37 | UK focused utilities hit as well.Traders selling to use cash to buy into Oil shares after Monday's sell off maybe? | gateside
10/3/2020 18:00 | Concerns about the American economy one would have thought | badtime
10/3/2020 12:07 | Strange, NG.the only red on my monitor? | dfoc
05/3/2020 20:44 | Yet more proposed USA investment. No good proposing anything innovative to OFGEM as they won't pay for anything! Keep on investing in the US. | beckers2008
04/3/2020 18:55 | Continuing to rise in NY this evening. (see header chart) | bountyhunter
04/3/2020 18:34 | Decent rise today, defensive against Covid-19? Just when it looked like interest rates had bottomed out the Fed cuts by 0.5% making high yielding shares such as this more attractive | bountyhunter
21/2/2020 22:55 | Imho this is the closest you can get to an instant access savings account with a decent interest rate. Any further capital appreciation is a bonus. | bountyhunter |
