Luder, its nothing at all to do with privatisation. It's just ng implementing systems as told to by various governments whoall seem under the spell of the eco-warriors. Ng do as they are told, they no longer have much say in what happens on the grid. (If they did, it would be a far different grid today, and much more efficient).

btw, I supported the cegb split at the time, but i've since changed my mind and think it was a big mistake.

Yes, £11 does seem a short term possibility, certainly little resistance to imminently £10.
NG. is playing 2 year catch-up, from the ridiculous sentiment that Labour could actually win a majority, LOL!

In the UK we are back in a low growth, low interest rate environment, all good for income investors.

The US business is going from strength to strength with yet more investment than the UK.
All we need now is to sell the rest of the UK business and leave Ofgem to it!

Top priority is that Company directors need to be able to pay themselves an obscene amount of cash!

A Tweet by the FT. Note the image they used to accompany their otherwise accurate headline 'Three UK electricity companies to pay £10.5m over blackout'

The guy on the news today was complete toss. Talk about looking for something that isn't there. Job justification at it's worst. Then the beeb twist it to say that everything is on the table depending on a review, like NG had done something wrong. Trying to fix something that simply isn't broke is damn right dangerous.

I like the way every other paragraph ends with:

"If we identify instances in which the ESO has failed to meet its requirements, we will take the necessary action."

God help National Grid if they actually manage to find anything...

Can't disagree with that. If only the general public realised what 'we are investigating ng's response and reserve system to ensure it will meet future changes in generation (or words to that effect)' actually means. I suspect it means a years work for 20 or 30 kpmg/pa/consultants on, what 4 grand per day these days?, with probably 2 or 3 knowledgeable of the systems and 17 learning on the job.

And to you UI and all the other posters here. I had to sell out of the markets to preserve capital early October but couldn't resist buying some NG back just before the election, just wish I had put more back into utilities now at that point! 🍻

It will probably oscillate around £10 for a while.
I wouldn't be surprised to see this on one or two NY tip lists which should push it up to a tenner, not that it needs tipping to get there.

Shame, I was hoping he would take over from Corbyn and sink the Labour party for good 😉

U,
Who cares about old man JMD.
Nearly 60 fewer Labour MP's thanks to Left wing Labour and a woeful Corbyn, not even a leader.

NG. will never be nationalised as the Left wing will never get into No 10.
NG. Have a bright future and IMO so too the share price

McD was the big danger, I guess he is hoping to take over from Corbyn which would surely ensure another Labour defeat! He might be too close to Corbyn to take his place though as clearly part of the Labour problem.

I've taken a fairly sizable position today (for me, at least). With the politburo defeated, even a future l*bour government would be less concerning than a Commissar Corbyn-led atrocity.
