09/2/2017 03:18 | Losos,When the new ISA year starts on 06/04.Can you confirm that when the £20k allowance is added. The money is available to invest in your current ISA,or do you have to start a new 2017/18 ISA ? | garycook
08/2/2017 16:57 | UtyINV - "This share is being managed down by Hedge Funds. NG should be publishing a trading update in a couple of weeks, let's hope it's far better than the miserable Interims published in Nov which gave Hedge Funds the ammunition to knock £2 off the share price." Yes, once again the 'Hedgies' cause havoc, but as always only in the short term. By the way I thought I should mention that thanks to the tips and advice from yourself and some others I now have my entire holding in the ISA and don't have to worry about tax on the upcoming special dividend or return of capitol or whatever it will be classed as. Did the whole deal and after all costs came out with a very modest profit so I'm a happy bunny, I did have to sell one holding already in the ISA but I'm quietly confident I can buy that back after April 6th. (when I put more money in) and maybe (God willing) at a modest profit also ha ha. Thanks to all who suggested various things that can be done, I did have an overview of options but getting the timing right was the hard bit. | losos
08/2/2017 14:53 | Thanks - so three interest rate hikes are not a done deal in the states. | atlantic57
08/2/2017 14:20 | They are also currently in a buyback programme of 3,498,317 to neutralize dividend dilution and also indicated buyback on part proceeds on completion of sale of Gas assets, every little helps! EDIT I have edited this the figures were rubbish the actual number is a flea bite. Apologies. AO | a0148009

31/1/2017 09:38 | Pierre that is really helpful thank you | atlantic57
31/1/2017 08:33 | Atlantic, when the shares go ex entitlement, the share consolidation will work out such that the reduction in your shareholding will almost exactly match the cash you get at the then share price. It's just like selling a certain number of shares at the ex entitlement date. So if you have 1000 shares priced at a quid, then if your cash return is £200, then you'll be consolidated down to about 800 shares worth a quid.It may all seem pointless, but the idea is if the company strategy is correct, the business prospects of the company have improved due to the sale of the assets disposed, so great for the longer term price. That's my understanding anyhow. | pierre oreilly
30/1/2017 22:31 | speedsgh Thank you for taking the time to post . i do recall posters speculating on the size of the payout but I'm trying to get a feel for the share consolidation. | atlantic57
30/1/2017 15:53 | atlantic - From 8/12/16 rns... "Following completion of the Transaction, National Grid intends to return £4 billion of net proceeds to shareholders through the combination of a special dividend (together with a share consolidation) and share buy-backs." | speedsgh
30/1/2017 15:50 | Apologies if this has been discussed before but after the capital has been returned To shareholders following the sale of part of a business are we expecting a known reduction in the number of shares in issue i.e. Say 8 for every 10 held or will it Be a simple reduction in the share price to reflect the capital distribution. | atlantic57
26/1/2017 08:30 | This share is being managed down by Hedge Funds. NG should be publishing a trading update in a couple of weeks, let's hope it's far better than the miserable Interims published in Nov which gave Hedge Funds the ammunition to knock £2 off the share price. | utyinv
