17/12/2010 21:06 | What an excellent performance, it will be interesting to see what the weekend papers say, don't see why the current share price couldn't hit its 52 week high @ 261.3 after that update of go even higher. I'm assuming they are saving the dividend re-instatement to Final results announcement | winston270
17/12/2010 07:32 | good results, profits to be above mkt expectations - shouls start to recover strongly. If not, will buy more. Too low at current price imho, esp compared with indices at 52 week highs. | jas_ron
17/12/2010 07:15 | Here are the highlights and I see no reason why the market should not view these very positively. We shall see... Summary The Group has continued its strong progress during the fourth quarter, with ongoing growth in year-on-year profitability. All parts of the business have performed well - highlights have included: -- good revenue growth in UK Coach, Rail and North America; -- margin recovery well ahead of plan in UK Bus; and -- strong margin coupled with a return to intercity revenue growth in Spain. As a result, the Board now expects normalised1 profit before tax for 2010 to be a little above current market expectations and markedly stronger than was expected back in January 2010.2 | montyville2
16/12/2010 19:20 | I definitely think there is upside in the current share price and have taken a spread bet. Good luck all | montyville2
16/12/2010 17:28 | Anytime we do get some movement on the share price we don't seem to be able to hold on to it, I agree at this level with the business turning around & debt vastly reduced the potential to move higher is far greater. There is still the prospect of a takeover offer, just can't see it coming from either First or Stagecoach if one come's at all, First already have a large amount of debt themselves. With a market capitalization of £1.16 Billion + approx £600 million of debt, there is always the chance of an offer coming from a European Transport Group, this could force First/Stagecoach's hand? Good luck those holding. | winston270
16/12/2010 13:44 | other transport groups been strong but these have been relatively weak. was not too long ago that 400p bids were doing the rounds - where is first group? spanish were rumoured too last year. Tomorrow will be interesting but think these offer value at this level. New mgt is well respected so see upside from here, hope no disappointments tomorrow. Going to buy some more before close today. risk/reward seems appealing | jas_ron
14/12/2010 17:37 | I'd also like to see a bounce in the share price; I'm surprised how quick we dropped back to the £2.20's when the business is recovering well. I would expect we'll see continuing margin improvements at UK bus & America, Spain's a bit of an unknown & may still be flat growth, NEX should hopefully be re-instating the dividend which could increase coverage. Hopefully we will also see continued debt reduction. There is also the chance of a pleasant surprise either results could exceed current market expectations or NEX are currently in negotiations with the government to extend East Anglia franchise for a further year while they decide on the new rail franchising bidding format, These are just my personal opinions only. Anyone else? | winston270
09/12/2010 13:04 | Any views on next weeks trading statement? I hope for more news on recovery and hope to see a bounce in share price | montyville2

29/4/2010 02:04 | Scorpione, Think its more likely down to NX delaying the launch of the 300 million Euro bond due to current stock markets | winston270
28/4/2010 18:55 | Winston Interim management statement last year was on 6 May, so it should be due around about then this year also? Maybe a few jitters with that around the corner? Personally though I think it's a bit of profit taking after the strong run of late (Firstgroup were also down) but it recovered strongly towards the end of the day on highish volume indicating good support. | scorpione
28/4/2010 12:40 | Hi all, That was a big drop this morning on thin volumes, the rest of the transport stocks held up pretty well. Does anyone know if we are due a trading statement? Stagecoach have announced this morning (pretty positive) & Go-Ahead are believed to be due one Thurs this week | winston270

23/4/2010 09:58 | Keifer, NX would do well to steer clear of rail franchises, they have never had much success. They should stick to buses & coaches, that what they know best.... Its just a question of long now until a bid approach is forthcoming? | winston270 |
