FWIW I still think the case could swing either way. It could be a massive victory or a dead loss or (most likely) settle somewhere in the middle. For all we know it could all end tomorrow … or take another five years. I think it’s wisest to invest prudently on the basis of organic growth and regard any damages from Samsung if and when they eventuate as a windfall. I think that’s how the market sees things too.

By the way. Have you ever litigated?

NigWit listen - there is a 99% chance you will go to bed tonight....now you can make all sorts of possibilities up to sound clever, you usually do - but we can safely say you will go to bed tonight. Now if you say "I might sleep on the floor" technically, you wont be going to bed...but if you wish to talk to people in this manner everyday..and normally just to sound clever - carry on my friend. The reality is - I don't think your attitude impresses too many people...The win is nailed on, and I have backed it as such!

"a Yankee legal team that normally charge telephone numbers for their services, are offering a no foal no fee to take on the case" Not correct. Mintz, who are the lead lawyers, will be paid the same win or lose by the litigation funders who are shouldering the risk in exchange for an elevated ROC. They have certainly carried out thorough due dilgence but they do not guarantee any particular outcome and will take a fat cut of the damages if, as we hope, things work out favourably. "The facts are 99% in favour of NANO" If Samsung's lawyers believed this too it would never have got so far. Anyway, it's not all about facts, it's also about how they are pleaded before the court and even what mood the judge is in. Studies have shown judges are more lenient after a break ... hTTps://www.theguardian.com/law/2011/apr/11/judges-lenient-break No lawyer risks their reputation by calling a case before it's won. I'm positive about Nanoco's case but anyone making rash statements like the ones just above can never have litigated and should not be relied upon.

We will know in ten months or less how valid Nanoco’s US patents are. I would expect the result to have a meaningful affect on the share price.

If we knew the names what difference would it make? We would still not see the confidential details behind them. I think it's quite plausible that Apple backed out because confidences came to light that undermined their commercial advantages so I think it's best not to speculate just in case.

I understand that NANO can't mention names for various reasons, but it would be so nice if it actually managed to disclose a name or two one of these days. It doesn't help the investment case when everything is so hush hush. Stating the bleeding obvious I know. Until we know names though we will probably be stuck in a lower trading range and not see the highs for many, many years to come (if ever!).

Clarification in Edison’s note. Just published here hTTps://www.edisongroup.com/publication/diversifying-its-customer-base/29693/ Extract “Nanoco has signed a development agreement for a project with a very significant Asian chemical company. The potential incremental revenues arising from this project during the period covered by our forecast are relatively modest, so we leave our estimates unchanged. However, the announcement is important because it demonstrates that interest in the use of Nanoco’s quantum dots for infrared-sensing applications continues to grow and that Nanoco is expanding its customer base.”

I don’t believe that since it doesn’t have any connection with Tenner’s narrative in today’s RNS that clearly mentions infrared sensors. Also a QD contract for TVs for LG would be on a larger scale.

Good riddance to impatient money if so. This from the 28 June RNS, a week ago, suggests more good news may not be far away. "Brian Tenner, Chief Executive Officer of Nanoco Group plc, said: "We are making strong progress in our sensing materials with customer published roadmaps indicating potential commercial production in 2023. We also continue to develop new strategic relationships. With a low and sustainable cost base underpinning our core capabilities, production revenues will quickly see the Group move to break even and organic cash generation in the short to medium term.””

I think its clear. The customer is new but the feasibility work for the new nano-material was carried out prior to contract. The previously developed material that will be continuously supplied is separate and non-specific to the customer. There can't be many "very significant Asian Chemical companies". The word "very" suggests that if they are not the largest they can't be much smaller than the largest. I don't think it matters that we don't know who they are and it's probably better to let the confidence remain for the sake of the future. Edison will most likely add a little more later.

I am confused. The announcement makes it sound like a new contract with an existing customer "The Project builds on recently completed feasibility work relating to the development of a potential new nano-material for the customer and the continued supply of a previously developed material." Brian Tenner says "Our new customer is a very significant player in electronics supply chains globally" I don't see how you can have "continued supply" to a "new customer"?

If it was LG Chem that would really be of concern to Samsung.

Tokyo Electron are a Electronics and semiconductor manufacturer, the RNS specifically states an Asian Chemical supplier.

The other point is - this will make Samsung think twice about their position. If this quickly becomes a successful agreement, it could make NANO an appealing target...again bad news for Samsung.
