22/12/2016 00:46 | Howl...lg have stated QD TVs in 2017. IMO, this statement would have been the hardest part to swallow. I think they now have to follow up on that, but whether a CES release, or something a bit later is the big Q. | kenirogas
21/12/2016 20:27 | source😁 My spelling mistake That's my bad | chaba1
21/12/2016 20:27 | The qled term is just a marketing differentiator for Samsung now - they bought the trademark - will be interesting to see how they have improved the black levels - hope it's not just the range (increased brightness). All positive for nanoco - increasing awareness of quantum dots with consumers - increasing HDR content creating demand - true ILED still years away - my money's still on Samsung taking Dow production - contrary to some recent speculation I don't think Dow are playing out some grand strategy, rather they have basically struggled with production. Hopefully now resolved. Can't see LG being seen to promote qds this year - the whole 'IPS Quantum Display' was designed to confuse the market - as I said consumers becoming more aware now of 'Quantum Dots'. TCL/CSOT to confirm supply deal with nanoco CES 2017 (IMO LOL) | howl01
21/12/2016 20:08 | "sauce", chaba !! | aimingupward2
21/12/2016 20:04 | Looks like Samsung are going to deploy their trademark "QLED" in relation to photoluminescent CFQD. So "true" electroluminescent QD displays are likely years away as ME indicated. Samsung's increased colour volume could be down to improved colour filters or Dow dots or both. Exciting times! | fil340
21/12/2016 20:03 | It's not the electroluminescent QLED tech which is in development but still some years away yet. it's still a film based quantum dot solution, but improved. Question remains will they be using dots from Dow. | andycapped
21/12/2016 19:50 | hxxp://english.etnew This is original sauce. I don't think they can come up with Qled yet. Samsung has improved their colour volume. Chinese OEM need to catch up with this trend of market anyway. | chaba1
21/12/2016 19:32 | Thanks Andy...if true (and Qled means what we think), this could be upsetting for nano, esp. As ME has said Qled is 10 years away IIRC. I do note, though, that they still say led and backlights for the foreseeable future, and the Chinese I'm sure want on the QD bandwagon. Roll on CES! | kenirogas
21/12/2016 17:14 | Hi Marcusm. I don't understand it either other than accepting loads of stuff goes on between institutions loaning shares outs etc and shorts that we under privileged investors never get sight of. Bring on CES 3rd Jan | firminator1
21/12/2016 16:59 | Anyone got a reason for this drop in SP? Its very strange that last christmas we had a 8% short on this and it rose from 41 into the 60`s and now after all the other contracts gained were at 42?? I`ve been in this share for around 5 years now and seriously DOWN, i do see the light at the end of the tunnel, Always have, just seams that tunnel keeps bloody expanding..... A RNS with a contract could be done with about now!!!! Good Luck All who dwell here, CES should give us a boost by all accounts.. | marcusm1000
21/12/2016 15:55 | Bagpuss - There's been quite a bit of activity I've noticed at Dow related to qds since June - external posts, secondments, production-based roles - something happening there now I'm sure..... | howl01
21/12/2016 15:36 | bagpuss is this it, appointed October 16 hxxps://www.linkedin | whum
21/12/2016 13:25 | Looks like from linkedin that Dow apointed a new business manager for quantim dots 3 months ago. Suggests they are still in the game. I found it interesting but not surprising I guess that the person in question was following Samsung given they used to work there. Also someone else at Dow titles themselves production manager cadmium free quantum dots | bagpuss67
21/12/2016 10:41 | If the prototype TV showcasing our dots is branded, then the relevant OEM is quite likely to want to complete a contract before CES. RNS confirmation in the stocking would be ideal. | fil340
21/12/2016 10:25 | jfacwc short position unchanged since last friday and pretty negligible movement at 4.15 still. Think its widely agreed this share price will be up and down like santa in a chimney over next few weeks until substance is delivered - a great start is a branded display unit at CES supplied with nano dots | firminator1
21/12/2016 10:05 | We're all in suspenders, waiting for what pans out at CES2017. | andycapped
21/12/2016 09:45 | shorts increasing again.Hope they get their fingers burnt.., although the general mood on here seems to indicate otherwise.probably following the guidance of the 'British Bulls' site? | jfacwc
21/12/2016 00:20 | Yeah - that was funny! | night terrors
20/12/2016 21:53 | It was probably the stifel rep using ME as his ventriloquist dummy and throwing his voice through him.The real fact is Samsung is leading this industry in cad free tvs and Nano and QMC along with Nanosys are playing catch up...other than that until anyone one of the companies I mentioned surpass or equal Samsung then any of the stuff you spout is heresay or wishful thinking. | ih_169538
20/12/2016 21:52 | I'm open to all opinions. My point was that declaring that your post is your own opinion is stating the obvious, and that any reader of these boards who is not aware of the dubious provenance of the information posted deserves any consequences that arise from acting upon it. It's a bit like the ludicrous disclaimers on seeking alpha and also US presidential electioneering statements that say something like 'I wrote this myself, it was all my own work'. Laughable to the world outside of the stupidly litigious US of A. | onething |
