18/9/2019 16:23 | A new deal could come out of the blue at any time and no-one is in any position to claim otherwise with any authority. | nigwit
18/9/2019 13:41 | So nearly 3 months on from the news and no sign of any new deal to replace the one that ends in December . Like was said back then I don't see any new deal appearing and the 6m they will have at the end of December will disappear fast given nanos burn rate from previous years . Even if you say they won't be employing as many people the redundancy costs will spiral and eat into the cash . Expect to see this back around 6p in the coming months as they haven't took the chance to raise money before the bad news starts to emerge . All heading for a very gloomy period . Talks of a new deal appearing even though the only one they had and took years to get is walking away is desperate and no matter how much you pray for a miracle they don't happen . | bones698

17/9/2019 23:12 | 10p fundraising bags? Really? Nitwit's fantasy posts are even more realistic. | howl01
17/9/2019 18:23 | I don't think it's easy to speculate on this subject but given the close relations between Apple, Plessey and Nanoco I don't find it hard to imagine, for instance, a next-gen, always-on and low power consumption Apple Watch 6 with Plessey/Nanoco tech. hxxp://www.plesseyse | nigwit
17/9/2019 16:31 | I can't really see the microled scaling fast enough to bring in sufficient revenue to keep the company ticking along. I believe it's going to take another couple of years before these things really start hitting the market.in quantity, and there are lots of competitors working on this, so it remains to be seen who will take the lead.I'd be delighted to be proved wrong on this. In the meantime, I still think it's display we have to look to since the Apple contract went west, and the pending decision of the Rohs exemption. | andycapped
17/9/2019 10:59 | Bagpuss If I had any information I would have posted it. I've just referred to Plessey and what they're saying in the hope that others may shed more light than I'm able too. At the moment I think any positive signs will be rewarded by the market since Nanoco doesn't need much. Play Mike isn't listening to you but I'm sure he'll address everyone at the results presentation next month. | nigwit
17/9/2019 10:54 | Great single digits to follow. Mike do you job and sign some contracts or let you legacy be the man who constantly diluted nanoco to nothing. Easy option always to dilute but every dilution is due to your failure | mrplay
17/9/2019 09:58 | In the meantime volume picking up. Is this the 10p fundraising? | bagpuss67
17/9/2019 09:55 | It was a more general and as I said genuine question. Is it feasible the MicroLed market can generate material income for Nano or others in the QD space? Have you come across the forecast market size for QDs in the microled segment? No worries if not... | bagpuss67
17/9/2019 09:46 | It's not really a genuine question since you must know that the answer is not in the market since the full terms of the Plessey partnership have not been disclosed, as one would expect. | nigwit
17/9/2019 07:55 | Nigwit. Do you have any sense of scale of the opportunity in MicroLed for Nano? Is the volume of QD sufficient per unit to generate meaningful income do you know? Genuine question! | bagpuss67
16/9/2019 18:58 | extract “Consumer electronics and television manufacturers such as Samsung, LG, Apple etc. are all looking to create products using microLED technology, which could dramatically improve the functionality, durability and longevity of their products. MicroLED forecasting report by n-tech Research projects the overall market opportunities for microLED technology to grow from $0.5B to $22.4B by 2024.” | nigwit

12/9/2019 07:45 | Yole are the best people to follow for relevant industry news. Their reports are expensive (for most small investors anyway) but you can get the gist free from their LinkedIn page or by subscribing and they sometimes have free webinars and live events. Nanoco often refer to them. | nigwit
11/9/2019 22:36 | Thanks NigWit. It is still speculative. Anything Nanoco were working on for Apple was under tight wraps. Whether it was infrared devices for the iPhone 11 or new AR glasses, both ultimately would have required Nanoco's complex nanoparticles and processes. The iPhone continues to be developed and at some point we will see iPhone 12. Any smartphone manufacturer (including Apple) cannot afford to be left behind and I suspect it is just a matter of time before we see the introduction of improved displays using QDs. The Apple AR glasses on the other hand will also be added at some point to the family of Apple devices. The CNET article suggested that the coding in iOS 13 gives a strong indication that AR glasses will indeed be added at some point in the future. Nanoco are no stranger to AR technology as evidenced by their relationship with Plessey. Apple will be well aware of Nanoco's talents... | ghaon
11/9/2019 19:37 | Nanoco were working on an infra red device for iphones and not AR glasses with Apple. I strongly suspect that it was a new face recognition camera that would sit behind the OLED display instead of above it. This would allow them to do away with the ugly notch at the top of the display. The new iPhone 11 seems little different from the previous version and still has the ugly notch. There are no indications that I have found that Apple have yet implemented the alternative laser scanning technology they were said to have turned too when they informed Nanoco they would not be proceeding. I still find it interesting that Nanoco continue to commission and stress test the new plant for Apple. Meanwhile, there have been reports (which you’ll find on Google) that an Apple supplier in Austria called AMS has bought Osram who recently patented a new ‘pico-laser&rs There’s more here And in this PDF | nigwit
11/9/2019 17:27 | Surprised nobody has picked up on the following: hxxps://www.cnet.com Seems to me that this is what Nanoco were working on. So maybe no traction this year, but I thought the Nanoco statement alluded to a continuing relationship. | ghaon
10/9/2019 10:14 | WaveOptics raises 10m to develop AR glasses Might be something as this is the project Apple parked | activmojo
08/9/2019 14:16 | I think that Nanoco were rather largesse with their management structure, and I have wondered what many of them are doing to earn their keep. The COO And CFO were merged somewhat late in the day, but they could still afford to get rid of some dead wood IMO. Not alone in that category mind you. | andycapped
08/9/2019 08:15 | Interesting report on the growing QD market in North America The global quantum dot (QD) display market was valued at around US$ 1,176.2 Mn in 2017and is anticipated to register a stable CAGR of over 23% during the forecast period 2018 to 2026, according to a new report published by Transparency Market Research (TMR) titled “Quantum Dot (QD) Display Market” – Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Trends, and Forecast, 2018–2026.&rdq | aquaesulis01
07/9/2019 10:55 | £900k to move off the AIM strikes me as being a reasonable price to pay for better regulation and governance that will have reassured institutional investors. | nigwit
