Unnamed deal with unknown revenue - in fact content less. It could be the CEOs gran buying one dot for all we know. Pointless rns and I'm surprised the advisors didn't intervene and say as much. All this does is remind people how this company has operAted in recent years

I don't know what all this apparent need for secrecy is all about..Angle just announced a project and named Abbott no problem. It does make me question the substance here of the announcement. I already have a view on the substance of management.

Yep it's a pointless RNS, but it's probably released because AIM T&C's require it.

That is just the worst rns. I've been watching this one for ages, watched the 18p placing and still saw no reason to pile in.

Just awful management, no facts just signaling.

In all the funding issues late last year, we seemed to miss some developments in quantum dot technology that came out last year. Progress has been made on cesium lead perovskite quantum dots. The US Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)have achieved world record levels of conversion efficiency for solar (13.4%). The article below claims CsPbI3 perovskite materials are non-toxic and cheaper to make than nanoco's indium based approach and Fuji are one company on the road to commercialisation but it doesnt look as if they are quite there yet.
Not trying to de-ramp - just update some background information.

Not sure that this guy has his information right but he seems to think so (from Nov 17) so I thought I'd post. Anyone know where Sony source panels from now? They are pushing the trilluminos down the range for 2018 as well with a broad range of sizes.
As I understood they used advanced phosphors rather than QDs since 2015/QDV?

Thank you for that mrsooty. There is no doubt that NANO are strong on patents and very scientific. It is just the PR side that I have never liked and if they can get that together like they have with their science then I am sure the share price will reflect this better. Here is your link again:

No worries nowenterprise

Amazing how quickly sentiment can change with the right piece of news. I suspect the conversion rate of other OEMs will now begin to accelerate.

As a somewhat long-term holder, along with many bb subscribers here, the recent news from nanoco (though not actually mentioning, in this case, a company name), bears a close resemblance to the Merck news of 1st Aug 16.Is this news likely to be more significant, or do we all need to keep our wits about us?The goose and slippy, at that time, regularly helped sew doubt to the best of their abilities. It would be nice to think nanoco are now drip feeding information to us, to better maintain momentum?

If we go back 4 years to the Dow deal, Nano were on their first generation Qdot's with no productive capacity and with Dow's plant years away and the share price was 195. Now Nano on their 4th generation Qdots, having made huge advances in the tech, and production from Dow supplying to the market and with a number of OEM's adopting the tech with pre-production models and with production models being just a few months away. Merk has signed up plus Wah Hong plus this new unnamed US partner who are funding capex and growth. Plus the Qdot industry is flying .. Yet we are at 41p. Can't stay there for long imo.

I note those 5 new production jobs advertised refer to mainly the synthesis of cad free Qdots, so nothing to do with the new partnership yet. We're yet to see those jobs being advertised.

From the Times:

"Among small-cap stocks, shares in Nanoco rose 6¼p to 40½p, an 18 per cent leap that continued a sharp rise that started last week after the Manchester-based nanomaterial developer said that it had secured a deal to supply to an unnamed listed US corporation."

Lovely close at 41p, profit taking not doing too much to the share price so far.

Volsung, 75p would be nice indeed, however I don't see any reason for this not to reach £1 by end of year. As concrete commercialisation news begins to flow we can expect ever increasing interest from the market.

To be honest mwwh I don't believe most of the PR that comes out of TCL. They make wild claims and change product specs/release dates constantly. The range your talking about (P / 6 series) though is TCL's decent spec on a budget (their bread and butter). No QDs have migrated down that far down (yet).

Howl01, you may be right. Other than the your statement that this relatively new model is available in sizes other than 55 inch, this model came out in June 2017. As multiple articles state,
"It's only available in the 55-inch size.

nowenterprise: I am too trusting. Proof? I have owned Nanoco stock for 6 years. I did sell a few shares last year, but then bought low and am now near break-even. Rarely have I seen anyone on this blog (which is not nearly as notorious for opinions as is the LSE blog) state categorically that he "knows". Therefore, I am more inclined to believe him. Regarding the 55" screen, CNET's one criticism for 2018 was that the TV comes only in a 55" screen. This is definitely a new model. Sounds like they might be using Wah Hong.

mwwh, that's your call of course. To be fair I also suspect TCL will want to use NANO's CFQDs sooner or later, but suspecting is all I can do at this stage with the available information (so far). Taking someone's word for it on a public forum is not something I am willing to do, I don't think that's unreasonable. But hey, each to their own.

Anyway GLA, things are looking up ;)

IF Dow are producing, I'm guessing it's for CS/TCL but doesn't look like any trading update coming from Nanoco soon so who knows.

mwwh- you do realise the p series is discontinued and replaced by the 6 series? 55 & 65" models. No Qds. TCL are also the worst 'vapourware' company on the market.

Nowenterprise: I respectfully disagree and I accept that he somehow knows. If wrong, he will have egg on his face. I believe it is significant that TCL only offers a 55" screen in this model.

Yes it's great to see JPM reducing their short. I wonder who's going to be next, I suspect they will soon all be dropping like flies.

This site is useful as it shows sub 0.5% positions as well:
