AIM listed TomCo Energy PLC [TOM]

TomCo holds significant strategic Oil Shale reserves in the Green River Formation of Utah. Recent geological reports received by the company have shown that these oil shale leases have projected oil reserves of approximately 230 million barrels.

The Company's strategy is two-pronged: Firstly to hold the TomCo leases as a long term asset to be exploited when the commercial conditions are suitable, expected to be within 6 years. Secondly, to acquire and develop conventional oil assets in the USA. Led by Howard Crosby and John Ryan, the Company will concentrate principally on acquiring participations in shallow producing oil wells and proven drilling prospects, principally by leveraging their expertise and extensive industry contacts.

TomCo will invest in oil properties with fully engineered, proven, developed producing wells (PDPS) and proven undeveloped locations (PUDS). These smaller acquisitions can be obtained at prices that would give Tomco significant profit potential. Based on the experience gained from Cadence Resources more oil than gas production will be purchased due to the much quicker pay back time.

Both CEO Howard Crosby and CFO John Ryan have superb track records in the natural resources sector in the USA with their latest company [NASDAQ listed Cadence Resources] for example being a serious multi bagger [MKT CAP went from under $500K to $450M within 5 years before being taken over although it should be pointed out that $40M or so was raised on the way].

Based on the experience gained from Cadence Resources the financing for the upcoming TomCo Energy oil deals really does seem to be a very misunderstood area, but the fact is that most of the financing comes in the form of non equity! For example debt secured against the oil production with only relatively small amounts of equity required is one of the main and most obvious ways.

There are also of course other forms of "non-equity" financing deals that can be done. For example a group of investors could put in X amount of millions of $'s in return for a very attractive slice of the action [majority] whilst TomCo Energy still get well rewarded [significant minority] without having to put any money up....only the well known skills of Howard Crosby and his gang of Oilers with sh*t all over their boots!

Howard Crosby and John Ryan are looking to grow TomCo Energy PLC to at least the same size as Cadence Resources Inc over the next few years.....which would equate to a share price of more than 50p...and then throw in the oil shale leases and £1+ is more than possible!

And all for only 2p!

realistically, i doubt there will be many (if any) ten baggers in 2008. however as the price of uranium increases due to the increasing use of nuclear power as a 'cheap' source of fuel i fancy the uranium exploration co's to at least double or treble.

the uranium exploration co's such as ura hold the licenses to allow uranium to be mined which will very probably lead to increased consolidation and takeovers in the sector

Readers may wish to look over EuropeSteel on PLUS.

A trader/broker business in the city, importing metal from Russia and re-selling all over the world. Highly profitable and cash rich.

Currently 24p with M/C £3M; net cash £2.3M ; so subtract cash and enterprise value quoted is £700k; NPAT last half £300k; historic P/E 2 AND FORECAST P/E IS JUST 1!

All true - check it out on PLUS site.

Can see 50p easily in 2008 - co has authority to buy back shares to get rid of it's ever growing cash mountain - resolution passed earlier this year.

Here is one that everyone seems to think could be a multibagger!

The company is called Corac Group (CRA)
Based in Uxbridge it holds the intellectual property rights for valve technology that does not need oil as it only has two moving parts. A recent application has been for air compressors. The rights were recently licencesed to a major European manufacturer which has commenced manufacture so royalty payments will start to flow in 2008. However the big opportunity with this technology is in their down hole gas (DHG) compressor. Field trials were successfully completed in November 2007 causing a brief spike in the price. Recently further funds of about £4.2m were raised in 24hrs via a placing with an institution in Dec to enable a manufacturing facility to be built so that DHG compressor production can start in 2008. The DHG research project is jointly being funded by three major gas/Oil companies. With a market cap of just £47m at 54p the potential for this product is massive. At a price of about £500k per compressor and 50% margin and each gas/oil well needing three plus compressors we are talking about substantial potential annual earnings which multiply up to a significant market capitalisation which has been put at a billion pounds by other writers.

It has been tipped as a multi bagger in 2008 by a number of share mags. Whilst it may not get there in 2008 this will be a significant year for this share as final tests to destruction will be completed by end of Q1 2008 and field units will be manufactured and tested by Q4 2008. Initally I was sceptical but the more I looked into the various claims the more they stack up. DYOR and check the CRA BB for further info.

P.S. I own shares and am obviously bullish about it.

i'll have a go

most of those mentioned imo are maybe potential multi-bags but not much chance of a 10-bag. To get that you have to gamble and look for low-cap stocks which have the potential, no matter how remote, to rise x10.

I should add I don't hold these shares (apart from 1 or 2), they're just guesses.(I might buy others). The current mid-price as of today added.

And if you buy all 9 you'd better hope one of them ten-bags because the rest of them could well be bust.

As an update on IPL, there was an RNS on the 28th, and it seems my timescales were perhaps a little pessimistic.

It now appears that first reservoir should be entered around mid January, and TD is expected by or before mid-February.

To recap, the AJ-1 drill is targetting mean estimates of 1 Billion BOE, which as IPL is 50% of this, it means 500 MMBOE for IPL, which is worth around 1000p a share.

Top range estimates are for 1.5 Billion BOE.

Hence this share, by the time full scale testing is complete end of April, could be anywhere from 30p up to 1500p..........and presently its just over 60p a share.

I agree with PP about IPL - not many shares have the potential to 10x, but IPL appear to be x10 or x0.5 on this current well.

I can't see any 10 baggers on AIM in 2008 personally.

A company like Tomco could well multi bag, but I'm going for AST.
