I have listened to it and I am not that inpressed. It might grow on me and there are a few decent tunes but I don't think it compares well with some of their best albums. I like the more experimental music they were making before the 'All That You Can't Leave Behind' album. The Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, Zooropa and POP are my favourite U2 albums and I don't think this one is in the same league.

Niggle and I went to see him in July. It was fantastic, the atmosphere was great and he played the whole album and finished off with a medley of old hits. I hadn't realised they had so many. After his second encore he said 'I'm very tired now', he'd done more than 2 1/2 hours.

Watched the program last night, it was very moving seeing it all come together.

Smile by Brian Wilson is worth a listen. There was a programme about it last night. Brian Wilson wrote and produced most of the Beach Boys hits and Pet Sounds was one of the most highly rated albums of the 60's. Unfortunately he had a nervous breakdown when making Smile and it took 37 years to finish it. Not a typical Beach Boys album, it takes a bit to get in to but I think it is a great album.

I hadn't noticed but now you mention it there is a similarity. Have to laugh at 'vertigo' and 'hanging on':)

I think 'Beautiful day' stole some bits of the Aha song 'The Sun
Always Shines on TV'.

Does anyone else agree that Vertigo by U2 has been ripped from 'You keep me hanging on' by the Supremes?

Status Quo...that would be tough

just did this one and got 50/70...but did it really quick and knew I got a few wrong when I pressed it. Good fun though.

We did ok on the old stuff but fairly useless at the modern, oh and they had a whole section on Status Quo which I thought was rather unfair (even if I did get them all right!)

Just a blast from the past. Any 80s rockers out there? I was 10 when the Final Count Down came out. Purely by chance I came across this today

would you believe it they have reformed, have new album out etc etc. And if you are really keen they are playing in London on Monday. Hammersmith I think.

What a blast from the past. Cant believe its nearly 20 years ago...gulp!
