Anybody got any idea what's driving this over the last couple of days? Whatever the reason, used opportunity to reduce holding (can you still call it top slicing when its not a top??) by 1/3rd.

a little a day will take us a long way, if we break 170 would not take much buying to get back near previous highs

64,000 cross trade (£98,000) !? Buybacks? The last ones were in Dec '05 at 146p

Very unlikely to be anything 'inside' otherwise last weeks director buys would not have happened. Perhaps some share-buybacks going through? However, it doesn't take much to move it - not much of a free-float. -david

Hmmmmmmmmmm. This seems a wee bit too strong, given yesterday and today's share performance, to just be random noise. Anyone heard any whispers?

All three directors aquire 12,500 each - is this some strange coincidence?. Maybe they are keen on consistency. Anybody any thoughts?.

hi xdavid :-) Looks like a case of the directors saying 'too far' imo. Probably well worth more than todays shareprice but investors have been shunning because of the lack of newsflow likely imo. 3 director buys today ends that news drought imo. More please directors :-) CR

I'm sure they wanted to send a signal of some sort, but I don't think we need to get too carried away on conspiracy theories. If they were now to sell their large holdings then that would be a bad sign, but I can't imagine that happening, as they have been in for the long term. One other theory previously doing the rounds was that they wanted the share price to fall a long way so that they could launch an MBO on the cheap! No, I just think this was an obvious case of a share falling too far on minimal volumes, as private investor interest waned. It is quite a volatile stock!

Could these directors just trying to prop up the shares?. After all it is not in their interest to see the hammering continue.

Looks like there has been a few people 'waiting' to see how low it would go before buying (back) in. Just as a bit of news, the latest Type 45 got launched in Glasgow yesterday. They (MOD etc) are still arguing, however, about whether to build the last two (out of 6 total ordered?) PS. Nice to see you back, CR :)
