Cop is more commonly referred to as CoB, meaning 'Close of Business' I.e. When the markets close.

Hope that helps our international friends.

A re-buying opportunity: Expecting share price to reach 600p

might be out of date but the most recent I've read is Panmure Gordon have a 650p price target.

They expect pre-tax profit to increase to £8m (£6.3m in 2020 and £7.5m in 2019).

EPS would then be expected to be 36.1.

UK engineering sector has an average PE of around 20.

All IMHO.

It was not a trading update; it was an Order Book update. Maybe I am overly cyncical but I can only assume that H1 was poor but they are reasonably hopeful re catching up in H2.

In the corresponding TS two years ago, there were no numbers, as per but they do at least comment on trading... ...and in a very positive way.

#MPAC In its Trading Update for the six months ended 30 June 2021 Mpac reports that the upturn seen in H2 2020 has accelerated with H1’21 order intake well above that a year earlier - which had suffered the impact of COVID-19. The update highlights:

Strong performance in the Americas, enhanced by the successful integration of Switchback Group, which continues to trade ahead of management expectations, and an expanded regional presence.

A second half order book which is ahead of the opening level of £55.5m. This underpins our full year revenue outlook of £95.0m.

Implementation of unified business processes providing the basis for streamlined operations and a platform for sustained growth.

This places Mpac on a prospective FY21 EV/EBITDA of 8.3x and PE of 14.8x delivering a ROE of 14.2%. The medium-term outlook to FY23 indicates revenue CAGR at a healthy 8.6% and EBITDA CAGR of 14.4% placing Mpac on an attractive +3 year forward EV/EBITDA of 6.9x.

All of this leads us to conclude a fair value for Mpac shares of 600p.

The trading update reads well to me. The new US business is exceeding expectations and the order book looks strong. Cannot see any bad news. Soon see what the market thinks.

Yeah I wonder if it's a few insiders selling. There appears to be a lot of 2000 blocks going over the last few days (unless I read the trades incorrectly), which made me suspect an insider, or friends of an insider were off-loading. Other than that it might just be a tree shake. No reason for it to drop right now

"...exploiting information voids" A nice term used by Simon Thompson regarding another share (DUKE) but equally applicable here too... (?)

Me too Tiger. Not quite as many as you but this price looks way too cheap. Unless pre update leaks caused nervousness..
Whatever, great long term hold.
