24/1/2008 21:42 | Juju - re the spike ...I was watching MPE for a while in the 390s. The PO price had gone up dramatically, the other PO shares were rising but MPE share price no higher than 8 months earlier. It was a classic for a break-out, and a strong one at that. In normal markets, the rise would have continued. But with the recent shenanigans, MPE found some holders taking a quick profit - me included. As it is fairly thinly traded, the share price comes back down just as quick. Thats my explanation unless anyone can do better....I'm watching and may well get back in shortly - today I bought some AEP at 480p as I think an even greater fall there was well overdone. | melody9999
24/1/2008 17:17 | I got in this morning at £4, only bought 4k worth. Im a bit hesitant on making any big investments with the volatily on the markets. Anyway its going in the right direction for now. Hope it continues!!! | t-trader

20/1/2008 17:52 | not usual fpr a share to shoot up 15% on no news and then fall straight back again . i plan to buy in here but this is confusing me | juju43
20/1/2008 17:48 | juju43 's question seemed reasonable to me. After all its not as if the Price of Palm Oil has suddenly spiked or an RNS released. Please enlighten us lesser mortals. | jzd
20/1/2008 14:17 | Palm oild is US$1,100/T at the moment versus cash operating costs of about US$200/T. If prices stay anywhere near the current level then they will do very nicely indeed! | topvest
20/1/2008 09:26 | seems strange to buy any share at the moment, however good they seem. market sentiment generally around the globe only pulls them down. Also falling oil prices will mean lower palm prices in the face of the looming recession and since the markets are always a few months ahead of us, anything slightly negative will have an adverse affect. | vickiitwo2
18/1/2008 20:44 | watching thes - what caused it to spike up ? | juju43
18/1/2008 19:27 | Will wait for 400p before buying . | mitzis

17/1/2008 19:27 | I'm still in, just waiting for a nice tick up. | henleytrader
17/1/2008 15:55 | TOPPED UP AGAIN TODAY, mms dropping price start of day, then tick up towards the end, sellers gradually drying up, should see rise depending on u.s markets.looking for 5.50 soon | pav 1
17/1/2008 14:05 | $ is in the WC so $ palm oil price is high Stg down 12% odd in the last 2 months MPE figures expressed in STG will rise accordingly Share price rise circa 12% from November No suprise ( still holding ) | pcuser
13/1/2008 19:22 | This or AEP? Can't decide. | thepopeofchillitown
13/1/2008 13:28 | With palm oil prices over us$1,000/t, it should be a fantastic 2008 for this long established and prudent company. Suddenly plantation stocks are all the rage. Probably several decades since they were so popular. Plantation stocks was one of the original go-go sectors in the early 1900's. Following lst month's float in the sector it will be interesting to see whether we get any more. | topvest |
