Your friend from industry here - The contract that was lost recently is the one that I thought would go when I posted a few months ago, Why? the reason is they had a fairly close shave the first time around.

I now hear they have lost another contract - not a big one though - a shame as I thought their staff were good working in that particular field - and they generally did a good job and were very pleasant to work with.

Yes, well done on that. Did you short it.

Luckily not too much lost but will not be taking up the rights issues. Not what I was expecting from the interims.

What do you see now. Surely dilution otherwise they would not have put it into the interims. Can not see any approach for this company coming in now.

The DEATH RATTLE

In this instance we should remember that the underlying business is profitable, and does look perfectly viable going forward. This is not an instance where a company is slowly bleeding to death and the funds are being raised as a last ditch attempt to keep it afloat. A lot of the debt can be attributed to the very unwise purchase of a business some years ago at the top of the economic cycle, and of-course in more recent times we now know that the company has been living in a style that was, shall we say, inappropriate for its circumstances. Deeply regrettable, but these issues have now been (or are being) dealt with and those responsible for the poor management of the company in the past are not in charge now. Clearing a proportion of the debt will improve the outlook even further. It is not all doom and gloom, and frankly I really hope the company doesn't get sold cheaply in the near future. I would be keen to take up any entitlement to new shares (subject of-course to seeing the terms, but in theory at least!) and hope to see them build back some of the value that has been so tragically lost in the past year.

They're going to need £30m just to get the debt somewhere near serviceable. To do that means a 3:1 issue ie your share price will fall to 2.5p. If that's Ok as many of you think, then please send me some money as my brother's children are orphaned in Liberia and you will get back 3 times more from me than you lend me.

Telling the market that significant dilution may be coming also makes it easier for the board to recommend a bid for the company. if the other idiots last year had said the same thing then shareholders wouldn't have supported rejecting 135p.

Another option is to accept 20p per share in a takeover.

surely significant dilution will be based around the recent lows of 4-5p, expecting this to go lower again.

we all knew that any equity raising would involve "significant dilution". That's obvious. If you triple the share count to bring debt down to a manageable level then you have "significant dilution". That doesn't mean the shares are worthless.

The business is stable and can survive.

banks sympathetic, significant dilution, no upturn for 12-18 months while treading water, seem to be core points, lets see what 9-30 brings.
