The smell of burning bears is filling the air...

There were 3% of IG traders short this morning - that has reduced to 1%.

Agreed longshanks. I'm adding too. Much more upside now than downside and a couple of big ii's have taken substantial positions in this. Good enough for me.

Encarter - the mms have nothing to do with it.More likely is speculative short/spread bet selling in anticipation of AMP having to sell.Personally I don't give a fig. Investing involves buying at a price you feel comfortable with and with money you can afford to lose, but the secret to success is knowing when to sell.I have started buying again given we are now more or less at the last placing price: others will too I am sure. The likelihood is that we will once more dip below 30p but probably not much lower. The company has a good product with a NDA going through with fast track status early next year. Someone out there will be more than happy to pick up AMPs entire position and I would expect an announcement of such a deal some time in January. After that I will be once more choosing carefully the right time to sell but it will be a lot higher than last time.

I reckon the AMP needing to sell MTFB is a complete red herring... many forget there are quite a few options open to AMP with their other portfolio companies...as an example WorkOut Tea within Wellgen is just launching big time in the US, Danisco paid 4m USD for their stake in that company a few years ago.. maybe they will buy AMPs stake... who knows...

Bad news at AMP. They will be selling their stock in January at any price and the mms know it.

Can sell size at 30.7p on that 30.5-31p spread but as most know now it's sets and it's the AT's that determine the movement here. If it was just mm's I'd say based on the real prices it was certain to move higher but with sets flip a coin

Hitting a brick wall at the moment, the buying is still there and not that much pi selling but still no signs of the bounce even with a weekend tip.

I still hold

'This is going sub 30p' - wow, that's a bold prediction with the price at 31.25p. Have you thought about becoming an analyst or are you just going to remain a plonker?

Nobody has a crystal ball but this traded over 50p on their last update and now it's 31p so it's come down a long way and it does tend to bounce well from these levels
in the past.

No but I read some people not happy with Aviva shorting this down when they also
provide life insurance, sort of conflict of interests
