Motif Bio plc (AIM/NASDAQ: MTFB) announces it has conditionally raised GBP600,000 (US$0.73 million), before expenses by way of a placing (the "Placing") via the issue of 142,857,143 ordinary shares in the capital of the Company (the "Placing Shares") at an issue price of 0.42 pence per Placing Share (the "Placing Price"), to provide Motif Bio with additional working capital in order to implement the proposed initiatives as set out in the Company's announcement of 30 September 2019 regarding the Proposed Restructuring.

Most shells have about 500k in cash and that's enough for 6 months.

How much working capital do they even need if they are going to become a shell?

As long as the asset is worth a decent amount the funding will be easy, if it's not there's no point anyway.

Worth a few quid as a flutter but not the house.

Looking back at this share I can't believe how it has fallen by so much. I purchased some of these at 32p and sold them at 40p. How times have changed.

I'm confident this will be done as they have have a phase 3 product...but yes it's speculative.

It's going to be game over. They wont be able to raise enough at this level without having a reorg of sharecapital, there would be many billions of shares and the spiral will continue. Face facts current holders are screwed if the company does even manage to emerge from here.
