04/5/2019 00:18 | If the are printed beforehand then we will all know but as MTFB have fixed AGM for 22nd then likely there is a fair chance this will represent an opportunity to question the BOD before the news we all await. As they could easily have awaited until June to have AGM then really do not understand why it is likely to be a difficult meeting if it is before minutes are released. I consider it could be a great opportunity to make sound decisions based on the fullest information but hey ho if others prefer to make their decisions based on what people do not know rather than those that are in the loop then fair dis. | ivyspivey
03/5/2019 22:23 | Good point Bounty. I think the AGM would be a difficult meeting if the minutes were awaited. Good point too Gersemi. | bocase
03/5/2019 21:52 | The minutes may have been published by then as within 30 days. | bountyhunter
03/5/2019 21:21 | Wait for news or go to AGM on 22nd and ask away. Have a good w/end all | ivyspivey
03/5/2019 20:59 | They must know the outcome and want to act on it in view of their financial situation, so it would difficult to keep that confidential for the next 30 days. I wonder if they will release their 'understanding to be confirmed' before getting the minutes. | andrewsr
03/5/2019 20:38 | "After Motif Bio has received the minutes, the Company will be in a position to provide an update to the market on the path forward for iclaprim." To me that indicates that there is a realistic path forwards which Motif Bio will be able to follow towards finally gaining FDA approval which I see as a strong positive. There may not have been. | bountyhunter
03/5/2019 18:31 | Type A meetings, which are used to help "an otherwise stalled product development program proceed." On this description alone this type of meeting appears quite positive | gersemi
03/5/2019 18:28 | Motif Bio meeting with U.S. FDA held as planned Motif Bio plc (AIM/Nasdaq: MTFB), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company specialising in developing novel antibiotics, confirms that the Company met with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) on May 3, 2019 as expected. The Type A meeting was held to discuss the points raised in the Complete Response Letter received from the FDA related to the New Drug Application (NDA) for iclaprim for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections. As previously reported, official meeting minutes are received from the FDA typically within 30 days of such a meeting. After Motif Bio has received the minutes, the Company will be in a position to provide an update to the market on the path forward for iclaprim. | gersemi
03/5/2019 17:20 | Up to 30 days. Minimum of a week. OD | obiterdicta
03/5/2019 17:18 | Obviously Motif are meeting with the FDA today to discuss the way forward. Any thoughts about how soon we may get some feedback from the meeting? | bocase

01/5/2019 22:58 | US MOTIF ADR manage to stay up 9% today, UK very disappointing after such a good start at 8:05, lets see what tomorrow brings...... | rk23
01/5/2019 10:26 | Timbo, Interesting comment re. use of LMS-611 as a delivery system for Iclaprim. I believe it's a mouth spray that is inhaled? It appears that LMS-611 helps to clear sticky mucus, it was likened to WD-40 for the body in one article I read and in pre-clinical research has also shown the potential to enhance the performance of antibiotics. If it also functions as a delivery vehicle then that presumably would provide a way of allowing Iclaprim to be administered in the home setting - an important consideration for patients suffering from CF and any antibiotic wanting to enter the market. Will be interesting to get more details. | bermudashorts

01/5/2019 10:06 | Addef a few more here.. Once this overhang clears big gap to 200p | letmepass
01/5/2019 08:40 | fair point longshanks, it would probably have been more accurate (pedantic) for me to say that there are no covalent bonds formed or broken and no new chemical entities formed Today's announcement is short on technical details, but it sounds like the intention may be to use LAMELLASOME as a drug delivery system and I would not be surprised if they were thinking about topical delivery into the lungs (at the site of the bacterial infection). Presumably if they could improve the antibiotic penetration through the viscous mucus, this delivery route becomes more attractive and with local topical delivery the overall dose and systemic side effects (including hepatoxicity?) could be greatly reduced. | timbo003
01/5/2019 08:16 | buywell, It's a simple collaboration for pre-clinical research combining one drug that stops thick secretions from congesting organs with another antibiotic that has shown promise in pneumonia associated with cystic fibrosis. Appears to make complete sense and hold some promise. I'm not sure you can read any more into it than that although as andrewsr mentions, it would be an odd move for a drug with insurmountable liver toxicity. | bermudashorts
01/5/2019 08:11 | I hate to be a pedant, but you do get a reaction when you dissolve salt in water as you release Sodium cations and Chlorine anions into solution. It would be more correct to talk about dissolving sugar in water. | longshanks
01/5/2019 08:08 | NT to buy...this drug has more strings to its bow and is multi-use...cannot buy... | pre
01/5/2019 07:47 | Lol, don't give up the day job. | bountyhunter
01/5/2019 07:30 | This RNS is IMO an admission that Iclaprim by itself is a no go So mix it up with something and start again This should mean a load of new trials why ? Because as we all know that did chemistry ... when you mix two chemical entities together you get a reaction between the two. Other new chemical compounds are formed The data regarding ADME and Toxicology of these new compounds is unknown | buywell2 |
