05/10/2018 09:40 | For the loan side of the business, this seems one of the most important points: "A year on, these territory builds are now profitable and the cost of onboarding and integrating these territory builds has been fully incurred. We expect growth in the number of new territory builds to return to more normalised levels, and the decrease in associated costs to have a positive impact on earnings growth." Someone commented on the number of customers being static. That doesn't matter if you're improving your earnings. I'd much rather see that, than ambitious and wasteful drives to just increase revenue. I won't repeat the old adage. Plenty of time to increase customer numbers. | yump
30/8/2018 09:54 | Also looking at the chart - I realised I missed the major move and must pay more attention next time. | fenners66
30/8/2018 09:53 | I sold at 146. With all the extra territories there should have been major growth in customers - I don't buy the swap for quality over quantity. That would work if the delinquency rate was lower - but it's not. There will be a growth in costs because of the extra territories and there is a small increase in lending - but this is not the fabulous growth we were looking for - so after the market marked it down I bailed. So far so good - may get back in if the yield increases significantly - but I am not expecting a dividend increase - depending on the cost base it may even decline. | fenners66
30/8/2018 09:20 | Trading update reads well to me but in comparison to last years bounty from PF we are back to normal figures with customer numbers flat as they choose quality over quantity. P/E around 11 and a 5% dividend make these a great income hold for me and will add on this dip. Two brokers reiterated buy this morning with one downgrading. | battlebus2
28/8/2018 13:46 | Trading Update on 31 August last year... | hawaly
23/8/2018 18:30 | Apologies if I offended. Irritating day last week. This one seems to jump about unexpectedly. Last August very unnerving, even for someone like me who tries to ignore short term movement if I'm in for longer term. Drop to 110 then up to 150 - no reason - can't ever remember seeing that before. | yump
14/8/2018 15:02 | Thankfully their CFO Andy Thompson has a bit more by way of manners about him and sent me a reply. But hey, like your mate yump, thanks for your input, very helpful. | nquaile875
14/8/2018 13:42 | "If I received the email I'd just say sell and let me get on with work" Me too. Good one! LOL | minerve
14/8/2018 13:19 | Mmm...cheers | nquaile875
13/8/2018 18:00 | HaHa 😂. There’s probably an overhang again with majors or IPO sellers again, simple as that imv. | battlebus2
13/8/2018 17:27 | So since when does a relatively small sell volume constitute 'the market' ? Ridiculous contradictions here every day. If you're trading then a bunch of sales triggering mor sales on stop losses is really common. If holding longer term then cope with the effing chart going up and down or get a life ffs. If I received the email I'd just say sell and let me get on with work | yump
13/8/2018 12:21 | Been trawling news all morning and can find nothing untoward but something has the market spooked. Have sent an email to MCL but no reply yet! | nquaile875
13/8/2018 11:59 | Only thing I can come up with is that PFG are getting their act together - however I suspect that the customers they have lost to MCL will not be going back | fenners66
13/8/2018 11:46 | Anybody know what is happening here? Less than 40 000 sells in the past couple of hours have caused this to drop 7% losing all the gains made since beginning of May. Mike Elkin | mikeelkin
10/8/2018 09:02 | Lot of selling here, anyone heard anything adverse? | nquaile875
03/5/2018 15:07 | Regulatory fears subside I guess:- | jeff h
03/5/2018 07:48 | This is a real growth story that the market has missed I believe | solarno lopez
03/5/2018 07:46 | Provident Fin's share price continues to struggle - whilst MCL is starting to pick up, I feel that MCL will continue to take advantage this year and I look forward to some steady growth. | fenners66
02/5/2018 10:02 | That is looking healthier | fenners66
27/4/2018 16:24 | ...and an even better finish. An inexpensive growth stock with divi bonus - due a re-rating. | dendria
27/4/2018 07:42 | pleasant start to the day | solarno lopez
26/4/2018 08:15 | As am I this is a growth stock | solarno lopez |
